Solid OOC road win, down double-digits 2nd half and we claw back for the W. Quite a difference when you hit your outside shots and knock down your FTs. Kudos.
and play better defense, especially brimah

Sure makes it easier when you can hit outside shots and not have to force things inside. Florida was sagging inside and forced us to make outside shots. Omar and Purvis played huge in the second half. Need to keep this mojo going against S. Florida.

It's UConn's biggest win of the year because the Huskies choked away games against Yale, Texas and Temple. This was a must win because Florida has a 140ish RPI. Interestingly, 4 of UConn's losses are to Top 30 opponents, and Yale is 66. Dayton has hung on and remains, for now, a Top 20 RPI team. Even if they drift down, that should remain a Top 50 win.

UConn really, really needs SMU, Temple, Cincinnati, Tulsa and Memphis to shut out or come very close to shutting out the rest of the league, and it would be nice if SMU, Temple, Cincinnati and of course UConn, shut out Tulsa and Memphis. UConn needs top 50 opponents.

UConn/Stanford, Houston/Rice, Cincinnati/Xavier, and Memphis/Gonzaga are the only remaining non-conference games for the league. It would really help to sweep all of them if the AAC wants more than 1 at-large team.

Yale blew one at Vandy today in double OT. Led by 13 in second half, gave up a tying bucket late. The Montague kid tied it at the end of first OT, but Vandy won by four.

I think there is upside in some of our schedule, particularly with Florida. Stanford is a must win for UConn. Anyone who says that the regular season doesn't matter in hoops needs to just look at the three close UConn losses and what those have done to the Huskies' season. Yale is the one to watch, because if they can beat NJIT and get 11+ wins in the Ivy, they could hang in the Top 100, which would help our NCAA chances.

Huge win for the fellas.

Boat with his best Willis Reed impersonation.
Purvis with his best Rashad Anderson impersonation.
Calhoun showing some of the promise that we have all been salivating over.
Brimah pulling down big boards and changing shots.
The rest of the team all doing their part as well, with the defense clamping down. That's the real reason why we won this game; holding the Gators without a field goal for more than 7 minutes, I think?

Agreed Nelson. Need to beat Stanford, and hope Florida improves in the weak SEC. Uconn is 7-5 and but their bad loss to Yale isn't as bad as some other losses teams have had (Michigan State for example). I think someone said it to the other day...need to get to 21/22 wins before the American tournament. After today we have 17 conference games and the Stanford game. Beat Stanford and we need 13/14 wins in the American.

Honestly, Boatright hitting his free throws during the last 30 seconds of the game was the difference between winning against Florida and losing against Yale (dammit, really? That really happened?) and Texas. If you can keep the lead at four rather than two, they can't win on a last-second three-pointer. I might be stating the obvious, but it's that simple, too. All of those games were there for the taking. Hopefully, we don't let any more slip away.

The problem with the AAC is illustrated by Temple beating UCF and dropping from 30 to 32 in RPI.

UCF's RPI is 242. Did you expect Temple to move up? Honestly I'm surprised they only dropped 2 points.
