Just watched the Jimmy V 30 for 30 and got me thinking. Which was the bigger upset, State in 83 or Nova in 85. I'm going Nova but its very close. Thoughts???

I hate to say it but NC St had no chance if you watched Houston during their tourney run........Hakeem, Anders, Micheaux, Clyde, Young and a good bench - high flying circus act..............

At least Nova had seen GTwon and knew what they could and couldn't do.......but they also had to be perfect which it almost was.......tough call!!!

Duke over UNLV in 1991. Duke was good, but that UNLV team was the best college team in history. I am convinced to this day that Anderson Hunt and possibly Larry Johnson were point shaving that game.

The refs handed dook that game, lots of questionable calls late in that game. All I can remember is how pissed off I was after watching that debacle.

Houston was nick named phi slamma jamma, nc st had no business winning that year

Yeah I am going with NC State too. Houston was LOADED.

C) UConn over Dook in 99. We were bigger underdogs at like +10 or something.

NC State. George Mason over Uconn (3rd place).

I think Nova over Georgetown, but if you go by the oddsmakers, it was us over duke in 99. Funny, but I never saw it as an upset. I saw it as justice and redemption. And proof that the betting public is led like sheep by the talking heads.

I think only that state of CT knew before the tip that this would not have been an upset. We knew our team was loaded, our bench was loaded, we were prepped by tough BE battles, and we had the best coach. Outside of CT however everyone anointed dook well before the Tourney started.

That's because you've never met a conspiracy theory you didn't like. :)
