For those going through WCBB withdrawal, a triple header of Big Ten conference games on BTN

4PM Ohio State at Purdue

7PM Michigan at Nebraska

9PM Wisconsin at Minn

Ohio State and Purdue 20-25 now in a defensive non-gem with about 4 to play in first half.

and rounding out the Big 10 slate,

Northwestern at Rutgers. If you want to talk lack of offense.

Rutgers leads NW 29-18 at half.

I will say, I've taken a liking to the Big Ten Network's WBB coverage. They do a professional job.

Two players I do enjoy watching for Purdue are Ae'Rianna Harris and Carissa McLaughlin. Harris is just a great shot blocker, and McLaughlin, only a sophomore, is their leading scorer and floor general.

In watching the game, maybe it will help to see their box score against us when we waxed them 86-40

McLaughlin making me look good with that pretty slip pass to Harris for the and-one.

In the other game, Northwestern charges back to tighten up the game, trailing Rutgers 34-31 at end of 3Q. First team to 45 wins?

Missing so many bunnies may hurt Purdue in the end. OSU with a few 3pt makes has cut the lead to 6
(47-41 with 6:20 left in 4th)

C Viv at 199 Big 10 wins.

I tell ya, Ohio State amid all its struggles does in fact have some promising young players. They really had Virginia Tech on the ropes and almost handed the Hokies their first loss just before Christmas.

Purdue scored last 13 pts to go up 60-41 with 10 seconds left Ends 60-42.

NW up 41-40 with 1:17 left. Ouch

Northwestern takes its first lead of the game at 41-40 (!) with 1:22 left to play.

Well, I wasn't kidding when I said first team to 45 wins. Rutgers makes some clutch defensive plays in the final 80 seconds of the game to hang on, 45-41.

In a slugfest Rutgers kills Northwestern 45-41 on 26% shooting.
In a squeaker Purdue over tOSU 60-42.
Next up Maryland at Penn State and Michigan at Nebraska.

Player to watch in the Michigan-Nebraska game:

Michigan freshman Naz Hillmon is coming off the bench to lead her team in scoring. Even more impressively, she's currently 3rd in the country in FG% behind only Gustafson and Hebard, and just ahead of McCowan. She's averaging 12.6 ppg on 73.6% shooting.

I noticed that in the Vancouver Showcase, Rutgers just stops scoring after halftime some games. Somehow survived this one, but that's just putrid.

Penn State leading MD 21-18 after 1Q.

Doubt that stands up.

Edit. PSU still leads at the half 41-39.

I predicted OSU would have a losing record, and and a ~20 pt loss today helps.

In non-BiG news, after turning over pretty much its whole squad, Ole Miss is 6-8. Not too shabby. Of course they might only win another game the whole season, but for a new coach to take a rag tag bunch and get some wins is not nothing.

Rutgers does not have a very good scoring team. I know they have been banged up this season, not sure who is playing tonight.

As for Maryland, they have been turnover machines and have not defended well early on, their offense has been efficient when they aren't turning it over.

East Carolina waltzed into Durham tonight .... and waltzes back out with a loss.

If you think Duke was gonna go 0-3 vs PurpleTeams this year .... think again :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Penn State battled for 3 quarters, unfortunately they took the 4th quarter off... only scoring 4 points!!! while MD scored 21. I was not able to get it live, but followed late 3rd quarter to the end, on ESPN GameCast/Play by Play. PSU lots of turn overs, fouls... not sure what we can glean from this result, although Massey had MD winning by 15, actual margin of victory 16. But...if PSU had played 4th quarter the way they played the first 3, there could have been one less undefeated team left. Maryland gets through this one, but they could have trouble in B1G as the season moves forward.

PSU had a great game plan for the first three quarters relying on Page and McDaniel to take advantage of Maryland's slower guards. Maryland adjusted and won the game.

Illinois and Indiana are headed to overtime in a really back-and-forth game. Indiana led by as much as 15 in 2Q, and Illinois stormed back and led by 11 early in 4Q.

Illinois was winless in last year's Big Ten season. To get a win over Indiana here would be huge for them.

Minn looking very good in 3rd Q pushing the pace.

Up 46-30. 4' to go in Q3.

Lindsey has her team looking good. Hard working and gritty. They've taken on their coaches demeanor. Nice victory today.

Whalen has really energized the fan base as well as the team.
