Big Game Against Nova

There are a lot of posters claiming UConn is a lot better than Villanova. We will circle back to this thread in February.

They do not have a lot of top tier college scorers. Have we been watching the same team? It's all system. I didn't say we were a lot better than Nova. Do put that on me lol

I've rooted for every Big East team out of conference my whole life. I was a Cuse fan when they played for the title, I was a Nova fan when they played in their title games, I was a Seton Hall fan when they played for the title.

This is hard to watch. Complete domination.

I really want to beat this Nova team. I'm not sure it's gonna be easy as it looks.

Not easy. Jay Wright is great. But Auburn is better
 
I think the UConn team that played Auburn would have a shot against Baylor.

So Villanova sucks and are a pretender, but they are still better, or worse, than UConn? I am having trouble following your logic. I will put you down for a UConn sweep of Nova by 10 points in both games. I am rooting for you.

no on said nova sucks. They aren't the 6th best team.
 
Gillespie airballed a wide open three. Seems that could happen to anyone, I guess.

I do not recall anyone on this thread stating that we are better than Nova. Though we are on par with them.
 
Akinjo would’ve fit nicely into one of those 2 wide open schollies we have this season.

Although Gaffney probably wouldn’t have liked that.

You don't need to double anyone, everything they do revolves around getting a good look from three. They pump fake and swing it around constantly. When they get it in the middle inside the foul line it's not to score near the hoop, it's to kick it out for a three..


Justin Moore is their best player, Samuels is good, and Gillespie makes them go. They have nothing down low other than undersized Dixon and he's average at best. The whole thing about beating them is staying disciplined. UConn is a lot more athletic and bigger than them, the only question is do we stay disciplined.

Nova is better than they look today, Baylor is the best team in the country and they've rattled Nova since the start but this Nova team is nothing like past Nova teams in terms of talent.

If UConn had this same performance, this board would be on full meltdown mode. Yet, Nova is legit. With 27 at the under 4. The BE is WIDE open

Probably not far from that, we would probably be around #5 if we were healthy. It's a really weak year around college basketball.
 
The BE will be a dog fight this season. But we are going to be incredibly difficult to beat at home. I don’t think teams are necessarily seasoned for these conference road environments yet. Teams with elite defenses will be hard to beat at home.
 
This game leaves a nice lil brown stain on the BE success in non-conference play so far.

This is what it must've been like for non-UConn fans to watch the 2011 NC vs Butler.
 
Didn't we lose by 33 to Louisville in 2014. Of course, we also beat #1 that year.
 
Why is anyone fouling at this point. Nova fouls a guy on a wide open dunk with less than a minute and down 20
