That would be great!!AD Benedict has been pretty upfront in stating UConn would be a good fit for the ACC. He’s also said he’s “working on it”.
@triaddukefan @CamrnCrz1974 Maybe we’ll get to play a couple times a year

How’s the golf?Ha, MSGRET, we have different tastes in entertainment, I guess. I agree the cost factor would be significant in NYC, but there are few places, if any, that offer more things to do on basketball off-days than New York City, regardless of the time of year.![]()
I still have minor farts on Maryland’s affiliation. Maybe it goes back to some bad blood in the McGwire and Lefty days when we were both in the ACC. That and I’m getting old.Brain Fart I meant to say Boston College, because of the lawsuits. I don't know why I said Maryland.
Las Vegas has some of the best golf courses in the U.S., some you can play on, some are members only and then a few are privately owned by the casino's and only high rollers get on those. The NCAA is having over the next couple of years both men's and women's Div I, II, and III regional and national championships in the Vegas area. Years ago when I was in Real Estate I played on some of the best and they ate me alive, but it was fun.How’s the golf?

Man, even with the improvements this season, the football team would struggle. Would be great for Women’s basketball though!Did not want to put it in a separate thread but FWIW, a friend of mine (fellow St. John’s MBB fan) just called me to tell me there is a “a lot” of twitter chatter that Uconn is moving to the ACC. Just thought I would throw it out there.
The football team would struggle for a while, but being in the ACC vs the Big East when it comes to football would be an improvement. They would also be able to recruit better players then what they are currently recruiting.Man, even with the improvements this season, the football team would struggle. Football: eyeballs on screens and butts in bleachers matter more than quality of football play. A conference (and its network) have to want your market.The football team would struggle for a while, but being in the ACC vs the Big East when it comes to football would be an improvement. I live in Florida and I watch the games. UConnNation doesn’t end at the Connecticut borderFootball: eyeballs on screens and butts in bleachers matter more than quality of football play. A conference (and its network) have to want your market.
Connecticut’s 3.7 million population is smaller than any existing ACC member state, so the question would probably boil down to UConn’s share of the NY market for mbb and potential for football growth in that mega market.
Winning in football is not that important except as it relates to market share. See Rutgers.
Nor does any schools. Heck, everybody has alums in Florida.I live in Florida and I watch the games. UConnNation doesn’t end at the Connecticut border
As of 2021, the six county Hartford TV market is the 32nd largest in the country, just ahead of Columbus OH media market. The rest of Connecticut, and I think where most alumni live, is part of the New York City media market which is obviously the largest in the country. Most of our games are broadcast on SNY after all. The unique thing about UConn is not only does it have its own large media market that is bigger than most of the P5 schools, but on either side of it just a stone's throw away from Storrs is the #1 and #10 (Boston) markets. You also have the #52 (Providence) and #116 (Springfield MA) markets adjoining the Hartford market as well. UConn has a desirable market with lots of people, and lots of people that have money to spend which is a demographic advertisers covet, but unfortunately that metric hasn't really mattered for at least a decade with respect to conference realignment.Nor does any schools. It’s the core of the fan base that matters in market share - other than Notre Dame and , to a smaller degree, BYU.
I keep hearing that streaming could change things. But, until then . . .
Then get your football.
