NEW YORK – UConn sophomore forward Sarah Strong recorded her second straight and sixth BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season. Husky teammate forward Blanca Quiñonez earned her seventh BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. This is the sixth time this season that UConn swept the weekly awards.

While it appears to be a done deal that Sarah will win the BEPOY and Blanca will win the BEFOY, we should start laying odds as to which player wins more weekly awards. Right now Blanca leads Sarah 7 to 6.

Of course this is with the understanding that Sarah and Blanca have clinched the Year End awards.

I just watched the Ohio State replay (UConn's fourth game and Blanca's second) and I was amazed by how impressed and complementary on her future that the game analyst (Meghan McKeowen) was for Blanca. She wasn't wrong.
