Big East Preseason Picks

Big East Media day is next week (Wed) and the coaches' preseason picks will be unveiled. Here's what I think the picks will be:

Preseason POY: Skylar Diggins (will it be unanimous? I think yes)

Preseason Number 1 team: Notre Dame (UConn will be a close second. I hope this is the vote -- I want ND with the target on its back and I want a little chip on UConn's shoulder.)

Preseason FOY: KML (Top contenders for the award throughout the season will likely be Canty and Laney from RU)

UConn players on the Preseason All BE Team: Hayes, Hartley and Dolson

Interesting point you raise: will any of the BE coaches other than Muffet vote UConn preseason #1? If there's a second #1 vote my money is on Jamelle.

I agree Nan! Coaches cant vote for their own teams so that's a logical choice.

Sugar Rodgers is really the only person in the preseason I see stealing some of Diggin's votes.

I think KML as well....Laney/Canty out of Rutgers or Hammond from Louisville.

Good catch on Hammond. And we should add Banks to the list of top freshmen as well. Bria Smith will also be a freshman at L'ville but I think she'll struggle to score in her first year, particularly against the better teams.

I am interested in how Diggins handles the pressure. She matured immensely in the FF in front of WCBB fan's eyes!
