There are 3 Div 1 postseason tournaments happening now. How’s the Big East doing?

NCAA - The Big Dance
Invited: UConn, Creighton
As of 3/27/25 UConn is the last Big East team still dancing in either the men’s or women’s tournament

WBIT - The NCAA’s other tournament set up to compete with the WNIT
Invited: Marquette, Seton Hall, Villanova
CORRECTED As of 3/27/25 Seton Hall lost in the 2nd round, Marquette lost in the 3rd round. Villanova will play Belmont in the Final Four on March 31 at 2:30 on ESPNU (apologies for my prior mistake)

WNIT - The women’s version of the NIT
Invited - Butler
As of 3/27/25 Butler in the 3rd round, will play Purdue Fort Wayne Friday March 28th at 7 pm ET. Butler is the only Big East team in either the WNIT or NIT.

Go Huskies! Go Bulldogs! Go ‘Nova!

Maybe I’m missing something. Per ESPN, Marquette lost in the WBIT second round. Villanova beat Portland today in the quarter final.

Villanova plays Belmont Monday at 2:30 on ESPNU. Go Big East!
Note that Belmont scored double the points on James Madison in the quarterfinal. 90-45. Yikes.

Sorry for the error in the OP. My husband and I got back from our cruise yesterday and after passing through 2 time zones in 2 days, we were dragging a bit. The ol’ brain box was a little slow as a result.

Wouldn’t it be a kick in the pants if the beleaguered and belittled Big East won all three tourneys?
It's a bit of a guilty pleasure to read the uniformed comments on social media and a certain tube site. There is much criticism for both UConn and Paige, but they are trolls. The dig I see the most on UConn is that they play in "the worst conference in America" - The Big Least, as some say.

Is it safe to say that the Big East is the 5th best conference out of 31? It is too bad that our conference has recently lost so many great players to the portal (NIL). The trolls say "The Big Least", but never "The $EC."

Villanova couldn’t get it done today, losing to Belmont 66-57 in the WBIT Final Four. Maddie Webber tried to carry the team, with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal, but it wasn’t enough. Leading scorer Jasmine Bascom was held to 10 points.
