Creighton missing Ashworth is a major blow, especially as they're hitting their most difficult stretch of the non-con season. Even if it's a minor sprain and can come back quickly, he won't quite be himself for a bit I'm sure. At least UConn has a lot of opportunity to get things in order and help the cause.
Lots of opps, but Memphis offered a pretty good gameplan for how to attack us. That of which Marquette is built to abuse. Its gonna take some time to figure that out.

I figured you would be spending your time trying to figure out how you're going to spin your annual embarrassment when you play Xavier in the skyline chili classic.

shoot 50+% from 2 and 3 and pray you can hold on. UCONN did not play remotely close to what they are capable of or what we should expect come march and still could have won.

Attack our guards and take them downhill. While Memphis likely shot a rate they can’t maintain, make no mistake the UConn defense contributed to that. We also shot 50% and 47% from three.

Maybe Castle would have stopped their guards but do we have anyone on our roster quick and strong enough to stop good guards like yesterday?

SDSU is really going after Kalkbrenner both offensively (mixed results) and defensively (very good results)

Creighton down 4 at halftime

defense played a part no doubt but Memphis hit a bunch of well contested jump shots and shot 54.5% from 3.

Yeah this one looks done. I don’t expect Creighton to win any of these big matchups they have coming up as they look awful and out of sync. We may be hitting the tourney this year as a 6 seed even if we win the BE ;).

Not for nothing if it were my list I'd have UConn 2x on the bad losses line.

Today gonna be interesting as BE has multiple games against P4 and underdogs in each. We lose those three along with our game, the BE profile is going to be hurting.

Michigan 1.5 favs over Xavier
Oklahoma 2.5 favs over PC (Hopkins back I think)
Texas AM 3.5 favs over Creighton

These are fairly even matchups.

We are 7.5 favs over Dayton

BE KP drops to 6 behind MW. Rough year and can see it holding.

I already though the BE was hurting. You post about it every day.

This thread is pretty quiet considering everything that unfolded today. Pretty surprised there isn’t more dialogue on what will prove to be a pretty consequential day for the league (and us).

Nova beats Rider, Texas A&M over Creighton (with Ashworth), Oklahoma over Providence
BE is 1-2 so far.

Marquette leads Stonehill 41-27 with 3:28 to go in the 1st half.
Halftime: Michigan leads Xavier 41-30.

Then there's our Midnight Madness . . .

This was a horrible week of major pre season tournaments for the Big East. It will have ramifications in March for sure, both the number of teams getting an invite and the seed lines. Hopefully we get back on the horse and move forward. We can still be poised for a run in March and April, but a lot of work to do.
