The Big East mid tier may not exist this season. Providence has been mid and SHU and Villanova have clearly taken steps back. Can Georgetown be a decent team?

Looking like 5 bids, 6 if PC improves once Hopkins is back. Bottom hasn't really changed other than instead of DePaul and Georgetown, it's Seton Hall and Villanova.

As of now:

Likely tournament teams: UConn, Marquette, Creighton, St. John's, Xavier

Possible tournament team: Providence

Really bad: Villanova, Seton Hall, Butler

Unknown quantities: DePaul, Georgetown

I'm having a difficult time believing the committee will put six BE schools in the tournament. The only schools they would consider giving the benefit of the doubt to if they are near the bubble are us, Creighton and perhaps Marquette.

I could be wrong (and I hope I am) but something major will need to happen in order for more than four bids to be available for the BE. We may want to wax poetically about how great the conference is and always had been but those in power don't look at the conference that way. The bulk of the conference is doing very little to help.
