This is disgusting and anyone who can’t see the future model for this conference is blind.

Get out now.

CCSU will win the NEC, that’s not as bad of a team as people think. They will compete.
Central hit a total of 0 threes. When is the last time a team hit 0 threes, furthermore when is the last time a team hit 0 threes and almost won? If not for 2 timely Joseph threes in the last 5 minutes, Central would have pulled it off.

Outside of Kam Jones and UConn, the BE has a severe shortage in NBA talent this year.

The first team BE is filled with a bunch of old dudes, not really NBA talent. Providence has a bushel of very mediocre dudes out there.

It won’t be long until all top 30 kids go either Big12, SEC, Duke/UNC/Uconn.

Not the kind of local mid major team you want to open your season against. Providence got very lucky squeezing that one out.

People need to stop overreacting. This happens to every conference every year.

Experienced mid majors are getting better by sticking together for 4 years and avoiding the transfer portal.

Half of the teams are only beating MM by single digits on the same night in every conference?
Eastern Washington 31 - Colorado 25 at half
Oklahoma St 39 - Doug Gottleib 38 at half
Florida St 74 - N Kentucky 62
Cuse 86 - Le Moyne 82
Memphis up 71 - 62 on Missouri
North Florida 74 - South Carolina 71
Georgia 83 - Tennessee Tech 78

“Half the teams”. I’m talking percentages. If you have 18-20 teams ofc you’ll have 5-6 bad ones. We have 11 teams with 5-6 bad ones. Be honest.

DePaul, GTown, PC, SH, Butler all suck. SJ is just competitive. And Xavier just beat the KP 248 team by 9. Stop.
I would put your phone down, shut the TV off, and go to sleep. It’s all going to be OK.

It’s November 4th.

At least the BE didn't lose any of those games (although DePaul still could).

Marquette ended up winning big in addition to SJU. I might give Nova a pass as Dixon was out. Butler probably sucks anyway.so wasn't expecting a blowout. X had a crappy first half but owned the 2nd. But damn, Providence & Hall, wth.

Counter argument - good players at mid majors portal to high majors. Mid majors have literally no way to keep their top talent, or their top coaches. Yes maybe mid major mid talent develops chemistry, but that has a ceiling.

I suspect as NIL swells more and more, the gap between high and mid majors will as well.

Apparently nothing can help DePaul. New coaches or players turns into the same thing. Marquette shooting 30-35 from 2, that is just silly. Play some zone Stony.

Good points, but sometimes you get a collective mid-major who can make noise. Yale last year, UVM too. Others come to mind.

Portal-led teams, especially high major teams, are usually not as good as advertised.

I’ve had to listen for 2 years now how “great BE basketball” is. I just don’t see it. It’s all vibes lol
At least the BE isn’t the SEC tonight.

#13 TAM loses to UCF
USC loses to North Florida
Missouri loses to Memphis
Georgia wins by 5 against Tenn Tech

I know it’s not half the league but that’s much worse than close games.

BE has consistently been in top 3 of P6 despite all of the other 5 conferences having biggers schools with far more resources.

After experiencing the hell of the AAC, a little gratitude for what we have now would be a good idea.

Who’s advocating going back to the AAC? Strawman.
Do you have reading comprehension issues? Where did you see mention of going back to the AAC? I said "have gratitude for where we're at" because it could be much worse.

I would have thought the same, and then we saw NCSt last year. Bamas top players were out of the portal too (Sears, Nelson) I do think it takes times to get them to gel.

Yikes...

But hey, no Q4 losses for the Big East tonight! Trying not to overreact but PC, Seton Hall, DePaul looked piss poor. Butler had two point guards out.

Let the boneyard meltdowns begin. I was going to post in the "Boneyard Predictions" thread that it would happen by the time Maui came around but it has started before the first game. Who had that on their bingo card.
The BE won all their games & nobody cares about the final score come March.
