I didn't forget. It's back for the fifth-straight season.

Compiled with help from:
future-big-east-basketball-schedules
2024-25-dockets-power-conferences.html

Good news: Zero Division 2 contests.

The league plays a collective 121 OOC games this season (each teams plays 11 OOC games).

Games vs. P4 teams (Gonzaga does not count-only ACC, Big 12, SEC, and Big 10 opponents):

Butler: 4-5
UConn: 3-4
Creighton: 5
DePaul: 2
Georgetown: 3
Marquette: 5
Providence: 2-4
Seton Hall: 2-4
St. John's: 4
Villanova: 3
Xavier: 5

Total games vs. P4: 37-44

Based on what happened last year, 21 (not 20) wins is the minimum for an NCAA bid.

Number of bids by overall OOC record:

7 bids: 100-21
6 bids: 93-28
5 bids: 88-23
4 bids: 85-26
3 bids: 80-41

First two games for every team:

Butler: Missouri State, Austin Peay
UConn: Sacred Heart, New Hampshire
Creighton: UTRGV, Fairleigh Dickinson
DePaul: Southern Indiana, Prairie View A&M
Georgetown: Lehigh, Fairfield
Marquette: Stony Brook, George Mason
Providence: CCSU, Stonehill
Seton Hall: Saint Peter's, Fordham
St. John's: Fordham, Quinnipiac
Villanova: Lafayette, Colombia
Xavier: Texas Southern, IU Indy

Starting 22-0 with that schedule is a must.

Big East-Big 12 challenge (need to go 6-5 to win challenge):

Villanova: Cincinnati
Providence: BYU
UConn: Baylor
Marquette: @ Iowa State
Creighton: Kansas
DePaul: @ Texas Tech
Xavier: @ TCU
Georgetown: @ West Virginia
St. John's: Kansas State
Butler: @ Houston
Seton Hall: Oklahoma State

Great Post:
The OCS is critical to the league
That’s why the only polls “/ power rankings I take seriously ate in end of the year and the week of selection . Can a team come on in league play ? Yes but normally at the expense of of a conference mate.
Look at St Johns at year, they were probably top 10 but they dug their own grave in OCS
Good luck to our conference mates.

Providence looks really bad. Struggling with CCSU. Central CT up 10-9 after 7 minutes

No Hopkins tonight but…sheesh

This is not a good PC team, really have not understood the love they've gotten. They have no offensive creativity and a handful of guards who can't beat a guy off the dribble. KE might be a good coach one day, but twitter love has him hyped as a top 5 coach in the BE when he hasnt shown anything yet. PC needs to find a way to just not sink until Hopkins comes back for the Big East's sake

There certainly is a concerning lack of talent on teams projected 4-8 in the league

CCSU leads Providence 26-24 at the half.

Blue Devils have forced 11 PC turnovers while only committing 2.

Central outscoring the Friars in the paint 14-10.

Jordan Jones leads all scorers with 15 points.

I’m not sure if the PC game is shocking to anyone but it shouldn’t be. This is about as good as PC was last year when Carter sat.

Xavier also down at halftime, 38-34 to Texas Southern

At least this one is fun to watch. Freemantle showing no rust. Ryan Conwell is going to be fun to watch

Second this. Yes a healthy Hopkins is good, but not sure what anyone was seeing in them as a lock tourney team. Floyd is mid major talent, Pierre not far behind. Joseph shot 40% from the field at Miami. They just have no shooters.

Brutal showing from the BE as a whole today other than STJ. Xavier losing at the half to Texas Southern is surprising. Neptune is being Neptune. Can we call Yormark back up now that we’ve made a bowl game :)?

Lots of close games.

Good-makes for exciting TV
Bad-makes Big East look small time. And it will affect the Big East's scores for Selection Sunday

What it up with these close games? I mean at least Butler put it away but is PC going to pull it out now?

CCSU will win the NEC, that’s not as bad of a team as people think. They will compete.
