Nah, they both made sense. DePaul b/c they had history and b/c media markets were important at the time. Butler wasn't a flash in the pan, you just probably weren't paying attention to them because you didn't cross paths much until UConn rejoined the BE. Look at their history in the last 15 years. COVID disrupted what was really a solid program that continued to perform well despite coaching turnover. They really did make sense to add.

This is what I remember, too, was that Butler had good seasons in the BE prior to UConn rejoining in 2020. Lavall Jordan got over because it looks like he had his best team when coaching there (#5 seed) to only get fired later after some lackluster seasons afterwards. He is now on Chris Holtmann's staff in DePaul.
You know who else was good in the COVID shortened season? I mean really good with Final 4 aspirations.

In the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, on the East wall behind one of the baskets, they have big pictures of some of the star players that played really well in that tournament in the past. That includes Kemba Walker, and you guessed it, Obi Toppin.
