2-0 tonight.

Winners: UConn and Xavier

Overall: 76-31 (18-25)

Surprised by Xavier’s terrible NET. I would have thought 60’s or 70’s with that schedule, not outside the top 100.

It is funny that simply playing Rutgers may hurt Seton Hall’s NET.

If you take away the top teams in a conference from any analysis like this, it will always look bad.
Generally agree but ONE team with more wins than TEN combined teams is unique. The Big East doesn't suck but it's mid this year. Are there any more sweet sixteen caliber teams on the schedule? Doesn't look like it

St John's is definitely Sweet 16 caliber. They might not look it right now but in 3 months I expect them to be much better

The top 12 teams look so much better than the rest that it feels like the top 3 seeds for the regions are pretty firm already. Florida and St. John’s look like 4 seeds. I can’t tell the next 20 teams apart.

I keep hearing St John’s will keep getting better. But every time I see them they look worse
sanon heated up a little at the end of the half - but the Greek kid who was supposed to be their 12th man was their best guard up until that point. The Ejiofor-Hopkins-Mitchell frontcourt is still kinda threatening if they figure out their guard play - but that may never happen to the degree that they can contend.

Marquette might lose by 40
They're probably the worst team in the Big East and their prospects don't look good for next season either. I'm not sure how much good will Shaka has built up there but they at least need to have serious talk with him about his recruiting philosophy.

The big east absolutely does suck. It’s far and away the worst “power” conference. Should probably not even have that label anymore.

I’m not sure we won’t find ourselves in a dogfight at PC. They have some weapons.
Despite how poor the Big East has performed OOC relative to other power conferences, it won't be a cake walk for UConn in the Big East.
This PC-Butler game at Hinkle has been entertaining. Meanwhile, Creighton is embarrassing themselves and the Big East in their home game vs Kansas State, the team Seton Hall defeated handily at Kansas State.

We may struggle to stop PC but we might score 200 on them. They are atrocious defensively. They can’t stop a cutting action and that’s all we do

PC is very susceptible to back door cuts. I expect English will have Oswin playing more drop coverage against UConn like he did last year.

According to WABWatch, we're at 3.5 WAB now and have 8.5 WAB remaining (plus BET). That would put us at 12 and that would be enough for a 1-seed (usually the 4th 1 seed is at 11 or less). So yeah, we don't really need anyone else to do anything.

But it does give us some margin of error if the BE wins a couple more today (but they're all losing so oh well).
