Good question. A similar question arose for me when I watched KK's vlog. She just brought more energy than the other players who found themselves in front of her camera. I suspect KK is like a constant hype machine, and maybe they would prefer to have her run interference for them. And I imagine that same energy translates really well to the court, and so they probably like it there too.

In watching the “Euro trip” games, I was impressed with KK but the biggest obstacle to her earning FOY will be limited minutes and lower scoring oppor tu irises when compared to other lesser teams freshman who will get more minutes and more shots. If KK could replicate Crystal Dangerfield's freshman numbers across the board, I would be one happy camper. As a brief reminder, here are Crystal Dangerfield's numbers:
GP-31, 6 starts, 24 min per game, 73-181 FG (40%), 26-82 3FG (32%), 16-27 FT (59%) 2.2 Rebs, 3.67 APG, 114-53 A/To, 29 steals and 6.1 pts per game. Those are very doable numbers, except maybe for the min per game. Fingers crossed.

No one is leaving her off. As POY, she is automatically at the top of the All-Big East team. But she doesn't get listed twice.

Actually in many D1 conferences, the preseason POY is also listed as part of the all conference team. For example, see the Big 10, the Big 12, and the ACC.
