It is objectively true that the bottom of the big east is much worse comapred to other power conferences than the top of the big east (1 ranked team total) is compared to those same power conferences.

Basically half of the Big East is in the top 50 NET, no other conference can say that. Statistically we can find different ways to make a point. I look at the top and you choose to view the bottom. Whatever floats your boat.
I look at it as who is a tournament team and who is not.

BE has 5 of the top 50 teams in NET right now.

Butler is 51. Then PC and the four teams in the graphic.

ACC has 10 teams outside the top 50

Big 12 has 7

Big Ten has 8

SEC has 6. Which is really good.

The bottom of the BE may suck worse than the bottom of other conferences but it will all come down to how the teams that make the NCAAT perform there.
And Xavier and Georgetown still both went 2-2 against the other power conferences. I watch a lot of basketball and there's so many crap teams in these other power conferences.

Not sure where you got that fact.

SEC has 10 of their 16 in the top 50 of NET.
Big 12 has 9 of their 16 in the top 50.
Big Ten has 10 of their 18 in the top 50.

I still don't understand why you treat any post that points out how down most of the schools in this conference are this season as a personal attack.

Those on this board that choose to wallow in misery because of UConn's conference affiliation are getting tedious. If rooting for a P4 school is that important to someone, BCU would welcome the fans.

1. The Big East is pretty bad this year.

2. Thanks to our difficult OOC and the competency of certain teams (Seton Hall, St Johns) it is unlikely that the mediocrity of the conference will hurt us seeding wise. Just win baby.

Not worth fussing about. Our next opponent is a strong team and performed well in the non conference, so we will learn a lot about our team on Tuesday.

The Big East does suck on the court, but playing name brands like Marquette and St. John's as opposed to Rice and UTSA is all Hurley needs to keep recruiting well. I'm loving the 2026 Big East.

BCU is worse than any team in our conference, to be fair.

Did everyone b^^ch and moan constantly about the Big East being a disgrace in the late 90's to early 2000's when the league was a 13 team conference getting 4 and 5 teams in the tournament?

I want to give you props. Of your 72 posts, almost all are about the Big East, and other than your name, you never post about UConn history, so it is unlikely you are actually a UConn fan. This board has been getting trolled for 20+ years, yet some of the longest term Boneyard posters have failed to spot you and are going along with your act. You have managed to derail thread after thread with your Big East bashing despite this season shaping up to be a great season on the court. This is impressive trolling.

Game recognizes game.

Most of my current concern comed from my feelings from that time frame when it appeared all catholic members of the conference at that time except Villanova appeared to be content letting UConn, Syracuse and occasionally another school or two do all of the heavy lifting.

Indeed. The undisputed master of thread derailing, usually with something that's borderline understandable, should know. All hail the troll king.

Of my 72 posts, I average nearly 7 likes. Of your nearly 50k posts, you average negative likes. You hate UConn Val.

Villanova had a losing record in conference from '97-98 to 2003-2004 with only one NCAA tournament and no wins.

They hired Jay Wright in 2001. That was enough to convince me they were trying.

Can't say that about almost everyone else (catholic contingent) back then. They let a couple schools do the work and were happy to share in the revenues

It's about the money. And money has a direct relationship to success in college sport. Figure it out.

This sure sounds like revisionist history. You don't think Seton Hall was trying when they hired Tommy Amaker? When he took them to the sweet 16 and then they followed it up with the #1 recruit, #9 recruit, #30 recruit all in the same class?

Of course they were trying. Of course teams in the conference right now are trying. The point is sometimes conferences have a bad year or a bad stretch of years. Everyone knows the Big East is down this season but they're still going to get 4 teams in the tournament and probably have the favorite to win the whole thing. I don't understand why we have the constant b^^^^ing and moaning here about it and pretending the conference is done. I highly doubt we had that back then, all I ever hear from the complainers is that the Big East was always amazing and now it sucks.

If Nelson is Val who does that make you? John swofford?

When have I praised the ACC fella? Nelson is Val, I am just a life-long UConn fan who will not bury my head in the sand about how bad our league is.

All I have ever argued for is to schedule like our women's team does, or like Gonzaga does. We need to ensure we have big time OOC games throughout the whole season, not just in the first month. Otherwise, our league does nothing but hold us back.

This is just further evidence that Boneyarders will complain about anything and everything.

You’re right in no point complaining, it is what it is.

I don’t think you can look at the 90s as a comparison between the ups and down. Much has changed that is unlikely to afford the variability.

Are you saying it is my fault you are falling for the trolling?

Every aspect of the conference situation has been beaten to death, and then beaten to death, and then beaten to death some more. There is a whole board on this site dedicated to this topic if you want to beat it to death some more.

UConn is having an amazing season, and a big chunk of you morons are falling for one of the more obvious trolls to show up on the Boneyard. Look at his posting history. He doesn't know anything about UConn, he just trolls us on conference realignment, and he derails thread after thread until half this board is complaining about the Big East.

Stop feeding the troll.
