Big East January '26 Thread

Providence within a point vs. St. John's with 4 :42 left.

Hopkins plays like the NIL checks have already been deposited and cleared. Going through the motions.

Jamier Jones just broke Bryce Hopkins's ankles on a fantastic spin spin move on full court dribble.

UConn fans own MSG, but Providence is 2nd with fan turn out there.

This nova team is much a better coached crew. They will lose some games at the line if their free throw shooting doesn’t improve..and offense can get bothered by disciplined length on Defense. Brennan is a big workhorse but the team doesn’t have another experienced banger if he is ever out of the game. Hodge will be a good one
Really disappointed with the Butler effort. Needed more offense from Traore, Bizjack, and Ajayi. Too many one-and-done possessions and not good enough on the boards. Have to be able win the home games.

He is actually trying too hard to impress because he is playing against his former team.

As far as NIL issues with him, just ask PC fans as they feel like they were fleeced last year. It's hard to argue they weren't.

It is objectively and absolutely mystifying how someone with all the knowledge, experience and skill of Rick Pitino, with significant NIL money behind him didn't realize he left himself with such a big hole at point guard.

They have zero shot at going deep in the tournament come March because of it. What the hell was he thinking???

He told the media he almost went to the G league for a mid-season point guard. I'm sure his guards loved hearing that.

He's a clown.

Amazing that the PC fans are literally louder than the St John's fans. And it's a 7-6 PC team.

Love Jamier Jones. I won't love him this Wednesday against the Huskies. Bad call By Potter, that looked like a clean steal by Sellers.

Normally I am indifferent in these Big East games without UConn, but I love the way PC is playing with energy resilience.

Providence up 2 with under 2 mins to play.

Were down 10.

Jones is super fun to watch. Crazy athletic.

Huge win for the Friars.

Johnnies looked totally vulnerable.

GO HUSKIES!

That’s a great win for PC. Legit like their team and players. They could be so dangerous if it clicks.
