Full tilt coming Saturday....we go first and that game is a must win for us as any loss to Providence and Xavier will go crazy beating Creighton to move up.

But if we win, we put pressure on (Nova, Creighton, Xavier, Marquette) for seeding in the BET.

1. UConn @ Providence 12:00 CBS
2. Butler @ Villanova 12:00 FOX
3. Seton Hall @ St. John's 2:15pm CBS
4. Creighton @ Xavier 4:30pm FOX
5. Marquette @ Georgetown 8:00pm Peacock

Need to get out of that 4-5 game to avoid the Johnnies until the finals. Creighton will almost certainly hold on to one of the 2-3 slots but the other is up for grabs.

It’s possible we play Nova > Creighton > Marquette with a little luck
Marquette hasn't beaten anyone in the top half of the BE standings since Creighton on 1/3 (or Nova on 1/21 if we're splitting hairs) so they may need a whole lot of luck

Very good day for BE exposure as games on CBS / Fox entire day....wish they better matchups (on paper) but good day for BE.

Creighton / Xavier is most even matchup ....must win for Xavier if any hope on getting on the good side of the Bubble.

To benefit us and the Big East as a whole, these are the winners we want today:
UConn
Nova
St. John's
Xavier
Marquette

Then going forward (next week) we want the following:
UConn, St. John's, Xavier, Creighton, and Nova going 2-0 next week.
Marquette going 0-2.

This gets us the #3 seed and likely puts 5 Big East teams in the tournament field.

One talented team that mucks things up versus a (much) less talented team that mucks things up. Never thought dual muckage would be entertaining to watch but somehow it is.

We don't need Marquette to lose twice for the 3rd seed if we beat them a 2nd time next week and we beat Seton Hall.

It is better for the league if St. John’s wins out until losing to us in BET final. They would be at least a 3 seed.

If Seton Hall loses this game against St. John's it will be because of poor free throw shooting.

I hope SJU can make a deep tourney run but man every time I see them I get the feeling their defensive style is going to lead to a disappointing early exit. They foul EVERY PLAY and that freedom of movement stuff gets called way more in the tourney than in the BE.

Wow-- you have a brawl all game and then with 3 minutes left, the ref asserts himself and calls a foul on a hold down low. It's game over with 2 bad calls in a row. I get it, this is the BE, you're going to let things go all game, but then all of a sudden, the game is essentially decided by what they weren't calling all game.

Seton Hall 9-20 from free throw line with 2 minutes left to play, down 8. And many of the misses were front ends of one-and-ones. smh This St. John's team is not invincible.

We aren't getting a 3 seed even if winning the BE tourney. We are too far behind. I could see a 5 seed and maybe a outsidee shot at a 4 seed. St. John's a 3 seed now which puts it in perspective as they have had a great season. Winning games at the end of the year is nice but doesn't wipe out our resume of bad losses.

The Pittsburgh dilemma...they were so overtly physical that when they got to the tournament all those years ago and got called for every foul, it frustrated them. I agree, it's a big concern. That and their FT and 3 point shooting. Neither is great, and that can catch up to you in the right game.
