Of course Seton Hall is turning into a toad after beating us. Marquette is up 17 in the first half. LOL!
We stunk on our game vs. them. They don’t have any capacity to build off that win we gifted them. Marquette will probably beat them by 30+

Nova up 17-4 on Marquette through 5 minutes. Regardless of the outcome of this game I would be shocked if Marquette made it out of the first weekend of the tourney.

Nova 12 for 15 on threes in first half.

I get the idea that in the top half of the BE no team is that much better than the others regardless of rankings and that has shown to be the case. St. John’s has done a bit better than most but even they are suspect. We’ll see Sunday.

they'll probably screw it up along the way but Nova should sweep their last 4 games(including tonight) heading into the BET

Nova is very Jekyll and Hyde, much more so than even we are. However, they’re a good 3 point shooting team which means their ceiling is pretty high when they’re clicking. We have a higher ceiling, but not sure we’ve seen it yet. Our game at Marquette was the best we’ve played yet, but we are due to put it all together at some point soon.

We have to beat SJU this weekend. They might be the only team we beat all season that’s still ranked going into the tourney

Here’s a fun fact: we’re 4-1 against top 25 teams. St. John’s is only 3-1 against top 25. I honestly think the Big East is better than the Big 10 (like usual). Outside chance the Big East sneaks a 5th team in. Who wants to play an 8 seed in UConn or Creighton? On the flip side, Duke is 2-3 against the top 25. They’ll get a top seed, but they’ve played no one in 2025 and won’t play anyone else good until the NCAA tournament.

The season is not over if we lose a close game. Or even a not close game. But it would be nice to win.

The season isn’t over until we lose in the tourney; I’m talking about ensuring our resume deserves better than an 8 seed

Exactly. If the committee was willing to give us the hardest path to the FF as the overall number 1 seed last year, I bet they’d be tickled pink to pencil us in for a second round matchup with Auburn and make any chance of a miracle run to the three-peat effectively impossible.

Amen to that. I saw some mock drafts, FWIW, that had Sorber in the middle of the first round.
I've even seen him late lottery. Will be interesting to see if he declares or not. If not, Gtown could have a really good team next year with a couple good portal adds.

Wow. Awful for him and G'town. Hope he has a speedy recovery and still goes 1st round.

He shouldn't go. NBA franchises have a bad track record of big men that show up with foot problems, and I could see a handful of franchises not willing to take the risk, and he could slip to the second round. He will get paid to stay in school, so it isn't the end of the world to play another season.

Whatever happens in the tournament will be because of what we are and are not capable of and where we are seeded will be entirely due to what we have earned.

We will have no cause to blame the committee for anything.

Maybe Cooley mistakenly stepped on it?
