Let's see. UConn beats a good Marquette team on the road without McNeeley, then loses to St. Johns at home with McNeeley, then beats Creighton on the road with McNeeley. Also, all the ugly losses at the beginning of the season occurred with McNeeley. Not sure how the Committee is going to think about that, or about the fact that UConn's point guard may not be 100% again this season, but it sounds like you have a direct line into the Committee's thought processes so please share.

I guess one way we could test how important this player is and whether UConn should get a mulligan for the games lost when McNeeley was hurt is for UConn to play some highly rated competition in the final weeks. But wait, you also want Creighton, Marquette and St. Johns to get picked off by Seton Hall, Depaul and Providence, so those wins will not be as impressive and the Committee will not know how to treat McNeeley's injury.

It is not controversial for a UConn fan to want the teams it played to stay good so UConn would look better for beating them. The problem is that 2 of UConn's OOC losses (Colorado and Dayton by 18) look tragic at this point in the season, and the quality wins: Texas, Baylor and Gonzaga are all stumbling to the finish line. UConn has Seton Hall (x2), Providence and Georgetown left to further damage our SOS, so just winning may not be enough for a good seed. We need our quality wins to hold up to avoid a really ugly seeding.

I believe the takes are purposely ridiculous and he/she likes to see our reactions. There is no way his posts are meant to make any relative or valid points.

He is like a human reaction meter. He tests all of our patience and keeps at it until we bite and start either insulting or our posts make it seem he/shenhas gotten under our skin.

Now if so of you know this person really exists and have met him then please let me know. If that is the case than I would start with @HooperScooper’s illustration in the above post.

This has to be purposeful trolling. I think he is actually getting better at it last year he was way more obvious. But I see he has been doing it for 14 years so maybe last year was just a bad year.

Winning the BE gets us a #1 seed in the BET and I bet Winning that will help our seedline

Look, all we can do is control our own destiny. There are seven games left in the league. The next is vs. Seton Hall. Win it. Then we have Villanova, who just knocked off St. John’s. Better win that one too, we already lost to them once.

Our problem isn’t Maui as much as it is the losses to Xavier and Villanova. Need to redeem that loss Villanova first and foremost. Winning out probably has us in that 5-6 seed line. Winning the BET also? Might be as high as 3 or 4.
 
Winning out only gets us to the 5-6 seed line? Because our losses are not “good losses” like other leagues that are deemed better? Some off those teams are going to get 2-3-4 seeds because they were beaten by ranked teams in a subjective system, and we get penalized for not having our best player for 9 games? And BTW 3 of our losses are when the kid just about first stepped on a college basketball floor? And several bad losses were razor thin.
9 teams are currently ranked in the “great“ SEC conference. 6 of them have 7, 6, and 5 losses. What are their seeds going to be?

1) It is not just about the NET.
2) UConn needs high quality wins, and the best path forward on that is for St. Johns, Creighton and Marquette to only lose to each other. Texas and Baylor are both on the bubble if you look at their remaining schedules.
3) For UConn to back into a Big East co-title, a very precise set of outcomes needs to occur. For example, if Creighton beats St. Johns on Sunday, the path to a Big East regular season title for UConn gets very narrow, but you think we should hope for Butler to turn our Quad 1's into Quad 2's because there is still a chance.

I want UConn to win, and if it pulls the inside straight and somehow Marquette, Creighton and St. Johns beat each other in the correct order, great. I am not going to root for Providence to turn our quality wins into less quality wins. That is honestly just freaking stupid, and shouldn't need to be explained.

If UCONN wins the Big East Title they will not have "BACKED IN" They will have won more games than the other teams in the conference.

Lol whoever believes our ceiling is a 5 even if we win out is smoking crack. If we run the table through the BET, I think at worst we get a 3 seed. Possibly a #2 depending on how other teams do, but probably above a 3 is out of reach.

This season sorta reminds me of 2011 in that we were a talented team, but things just didn't click for a chunk of the season. Though the 2011 team was really good for the first 2/3rds of the season, then went in the crapper the last 1/3rd before recovering and running the table in the BET and then the NCAAT. I'm hoping this year's team is more like the '22 team than the '11 team as far as finishing the regular season, though I'll be fine with the same end result. :cool:

The selection committee is not going to ignore things like getting hot late, being much better with Liam back. They’re not robots staring at cells in excel exclusively, there is some subjective reasoning involved.

Purdue has been flagged as a 2 seed and they have 6 losses. Yes better SOS but will have more losses.

UConn has to play the remaining schedule that lies in front of them not worrying about who beats who outside their own 4 walls. Then they have to beat all those they face in the NBE tournament. The next step is to beat all those they draw in the Dance. SIMPLE. No scenarios, no seedings, no conspiracies. Simply take care of business day by day, game by game. If they trip and fall - guess what? - it's their fault, not the committee, not the refs, not Nelson's sometimes mumble jumble, not uconnjb, not gtcam's cheering/swearing/anxiety/idiocy - its up to Dan Hurley, the staff and the players. These threads are a waste of time and energy IMHO

Yeah winning out will have a compounding effect with Liam's injury consideration. Ironically the more we win with him now, the more weight they will give to his injury, but the less we need them to consider it.

Uconn will be favored in every game the rest of the BE season other than at StJ. I like our chances there with Liam back full strength having seen their defense recently, in a revenge match, and the fact we have played much better on the road (although hard to call that a true road game). They'll also likely be without Devion Smith. One game at a time, but I generally like the outlook.

This Saturday is a big game for us: @ Seton Hall we are heavily favored and we just need to play our game, and take care of business. On a national level, this isn't even a top 50 game...

I’m convinced the Big East screwed our schedule on purpose, in terms of home games on weekends. They didn’t give us a lot cause they know we’ll sell lots of seats on a random Wednesday regardless, and they know opposing teams will pack the stadiums for us on weekends. I mean look at Georgetown, didn’t they sell like 10-12k more seats than their average or something when we came to town?

Not sure if it’s realistic but need to get to at least the 4 seed to (virtually) guarantee a slot in the Providence pod for the first weekend

I know that is what they call the Cincinnati Bengals FG kick Evan McPherson, but this season he was Garbage Mac. Rightfully he loses the Money Mac name and it goes to Liam McNeeley.
