Creighton’s schedule is soft rest of the way - starting next week after the St John’s matchup.

Probably want the Johnnies to give the bluejays their 4th loss, and see if UConn and Marquette can give the storm the 3rd and 4th loss.

Whats interesting now is the weekend in the big east i think we actually root for the johnies vs Creighton for the slim hope of a big east share. Creighton will be a solid favorite the rest of the way if they win whereas st johns has us at the garden and finishes at Marquette
Either outcome helps us. I’d prefer getting St John’s to 3 losses and hope Creighton loses on more game to close it out

I'm not a math guy but I was struggling to figure out why that loss is bad for Connecticut. Glad someone else said it.
There is a contingent that likes to hit the spreadsheets to see how decimals move for our NET, then there is another that favors the more traditional opportunity to win our league. Pick your poison.

Finally Dante Maddox Jr is on fire against someone else besides UConn. Xavier has taken the AMP crowd out of the game. It's like a library.

It isn’t really a hard decision. They don’t hang NET banners.
You don’t have to convince me that.

The StJ/Creighton presents an interesting on who to pull for.

StJ up one in standings over Creighton.

StJ has 3 loseable games in Creighton, UConn and @ Marquette.

Creighton really only has 1 in StJ, but then also @Xavier.

Thinking the best outcome may be StJ winning that game, then we beat and they lose at Marquette.

We want a share of BE we are gonna have to win out.

Teams like Villanova are so annoying. Not good enough to make the tournament, but just good enough to steal a few games and hurt everyone else’s resume

But it closes the gap in the standings, so I’ll take it!

Yea I agree. I think Creighton is due for a WTF game though. I can see GTown, Xavier or maybe even Butler clipping them. So I think I’d rather them beat St Johns. Especially with how Marquette is looking. If my scenario plays out we control our destiny at MSG. Either scenario we have to win out to have a chance.

That doesnt really check out mathematically for us to have any chance at a share we'd have to beat st johns meaning they theoretically already have their third loss so then it becomes who with a win this weekend has a higher probability of another loss and that is certainly st johns at marquette over creighton at xavier

I assume the national media will spend the next 5 days analyzing Kim English and his treatment of the refs just like they do with Dan Hurley

I like this Mela kid on Providence. Plays HARD every possession and pretty crafty getting to the rim. Looks to be around 6’5 and can play PG

He’s deathly afraid of taking a jumpshot, but he could be a really dangerous player if he develops a shot over the next few years

Yes Creighton beats St John’s they have 3 losses. We’d give them their 4th. I don’t think Creighton is winning out after St Johns

Same, clever and crafty for a frosh. Liked him when I saw him against us. He’ll develop well. Local kid.

Because there are 3 high quality opponents in league, so it shouldn't be that controversial to want to keep them all as high quality opponents for Selection Sunday.

Above winning the league? Quite the take.

Even so a loss on the road at Villanova doesn’t do much to hurt this endeavor

A lot has to happen for UConn to win the league, and if those things all happen, UConn drops a seed line or two even if the Huskies win out. There is still a high probability that even if there is an upset or two of the other top teams in the league, UConn still won’t win the Big East. You guys are rooting to draw three cards for an inside straight for UConn to back into a conference co-championship.

I would like UConn to win out, and for its schedule to hold up enough to justify a 5 or maybe even 4 seed. Others want chaos that will still likely result in no Big East title, and for UConn to have a 7 seed.

To each their own.

You’re wrong. There is no scenario better than UConn winning out and winning the conference.

The “chaos” you speak of is Creighton and UConn beating St. John’s and Creighton losing to Xavier or St. John’s beating Creighton and losing to UConn and Marquette. That isn’t chaos. Unless you thought the viability of the conference depended on St. John’s going 19-1 or 18-2. 4 losses is a respectable number of losses for a conference champ

I would honestly love to see a CT scan of your brain…..it has to be so jumbled and scrambled in there. Either that or just plain empty.

Either way would be a gift to science

Should he change his Boneyard name to Abby Muntz? :)

Winners win

I guess with those specific seeds you’ve already figured out how the tournament committee is going to handle missing a guy for 8 games that put up 38/10 in his 2nd game back, so that’s cool.

All the mumbo jumbo on other teams doing this or that has puny impact as long as we win. How anyone gives more a cr@p about decimals moving on spreadsheets over having a chance to win a BE title is ridiculous.

I heard you the first three times you said this, and you are wrong. A few things:

1) It is not just about the NET.
2) UConn needs high quality wins, and the best path forward on that is for St. Johns, Creighton and Marquette to only lose to each other. Texas and Baylor are both on the bubble if you look at their remaining schedules.
3) For UConn to back into a Big East co-title, a very precise set of outcomes needs to occur. For example, if Creighton beats St. Johns on Sunday, the path to a Big East regular season title for UConn gets very narrow, but you think we should hope for Butler to turn our Quad 1's into Quad 2's because there is still a chance.

I want UConn to win, and if it pulls the inside straight and somehow Marquette, Creighton and St. Johns beat each other in the correct order, great. I am not going to root for Providence to turn our quality wins into less quality wins. That is honestly just freaking stupid, and shouldn't need to be explained.

Bro what are you trying to achieve here in simple terms? A 5 seed vs a 6? Like how big a swing can there feasibly be at this point in our seed potential by what other teams do, versus what we can do most ourselves?

Just win.
