In honor of the MSG New Years shows that will be attending...

It is worth consideration. All ideas must be on the table. If we are being honest, Uconn is about winning. No one from the AAC will ever win the NCAA Tournament...EVER!

We should also consider turning the Nathan Hale Inn into a Casino and Brothel. The extra revenue might help make up for the shortfall in conference t.v. money.
I agree (with UConn excepted) with the above bolded statement. The thing is this: no one from the current Big East will ever win the NCAA Tournament...EVER!

I know we always here about the shortfall and everyone is having fun, but really there isn't even a shortfall in conference TV money between AAC and BE. The take from the football bowl TV money plus the AAC TV package is higher than the BE's take from TV.

And also, the AAC's media contract is understated in the media. They only consider the ESPN portion, but there's also a CBS deal for national basketball games.

I'm being nice for 24 hours.

I think he's just trying to find a way to accurately destroy someone's computer via the new drone he got for Christmas.

How much is that worth? Can't be too much.

The real viable question which I think our Athletic Department would be cool with, and I'd be cool with.

Big 12 Football/Basketball
Big East Olympic Sports
Hockey East

Big 12 is an infinitely better baseball conference than the Big East. Plus TX/OK are extremely fertile recruiting grounds for baseball.

If the B12 extends an invite to UCONN the ONLY Olympis sports that would need to find homes are the ones the B-12 doesn't support. Hockey stays in HE.

Soccer would go to Big East.

Ice Hockey would stay in the Hockey East. Field Hockey would stay in the Big East. Soccer would probably go back to the Big East.

Keep scrolling all the way to the bottom and you see Soccer (M) under non-sponsored sports. "Soccer" refers to just women's soccer. Only B12 with men's soccer is WV.
Wow. Only WVU has soccer. That surprised me.
And Iowa State no baseball.
We have horses, do we join in Equestrian? Polo?

I'm afraid the Equestrian and Polo teams will have to be disbanded so we can compete in rifle, bowling and horseshoes.

The B12 supports soccer...

Women's soccer only. The only XII school with a men's soccer program is WVU, which plays in the MAC. UConn men's soccer and women's field hockey would need a separate home (Big East?). I assume both hockey programs would be OK in Hockey East. Other program's like cross country, women's crew, volleyball, tennis may need some sort of hybrid arrangement to keep costs down.

Our field hockey and women's lax already compete in the big east. I don't see why they couldn't take our men's soccer as well.

About a year ago there was a big east media guy that tweeted that UConn AD had a meeting with big east about joining the conference. He assumed it was for basketball but I believe it may have been about the possibility of men's soccer in case we got that big 12 invite. This was about the same time I had heard that we had been working all angles including the big 12

@FDNY99 do you remember the guys name? I believe he was a St. John's beat guy and you got into with him on Twitter.

I remember the exchange but not who it was...he was definitely a former BE beat guy who was hooked up with St John's..

Is it possible: would the American allow us to stay as football-only members? If so, this could be our best bet for now.
Great Idea. Also: baseball in the Horizon, softball in the CAA, Soccer in the Northeast, volleyball in the America East, tennis and track in the MAAC That should work.

It was a St. John's SID, I believe. Sorry if that's not helpful.

I remember it too.

I thought the official explanation at the time was it was concerning a potential lacrosse upgrade.
That was put out there but I don't think it was official - I could be wrong. Could have been preliminary talks re men's soccer if we needed a home because of possible Big 12 move (talks had been ongoing during this time).

Edit: I think we can all agree that it was NOT about returning to big east in basketball as Albano insinuates.
