Who is this Providence player Fonts with the middle aged bald spot look? Calmly nails a 3 and looks like he should be playing in my Wednesday night JCC league.
He's a "preferred walk-on" I think.Who is this Providence player Fonts with the middle aged bald spot look? Calmly nails a 3 and looks like he should be playing in my Wednesday night JCC league.
Most important thing is that nobody posts a game day Haiku calling for "Hawkins" to have a big game. MUST be specific in the rematch.Someone mentioned on the ‘yard a few days ago that Ryan Hawkins won’t put up points on UConn when the good guys travel to Omaha. We better defend him better/differently then. He looked mighty good in scoring 25 last night.
Providence has 21 wins; they are cleanly in the field. The worst they could finish is 21-8.The Big East is putting PC on notice this week… “no, you’re not the best team in the league”. PC is in serious jeopardy of going into a slide if they lose this game which could push them back toward the bubble. Incredible to say for the #8 team in the AP this late in the year, but unfortunately it’s true

On the other hand, one could get a lot of mileage out of calling for Ryan to have a bad game, considering Creighton starts three dudes with that name (Nembhard, Hawkins, Kalkbrenner). Most important thing is that nobody posts a game day Haiku calling for "Hawkins" to have a big game. KenPom says otherwise…44 and dropping. Usually top 40 teams in KenPom are a “lock” after that it gets dicey. Their record is super inflated to say the least. They’re not headed to the bubble

Stop. Providence is clearly making the NCAATThe Big East is putting PC on notice this week… “no, you’re not the best team in the league”. They’d have the most interestingresume of all time. I’d love to see that happen for the social media meltdown aloneKenPom says otherwise…44 and dropping. Usually top 40 teams in KenPom are a “lock” after that it gets dicey. Their record is super inflated to say the least.
And a 4 seed in the committee’s initial bracketKenPom says otherwise…44 and dropping. Usually top 40 teams in KenPom are a “lock” after that it gets dicey. Their record is super inflated to say the least.
They're still top 10 in WAB, SOR, and KPI (the latter 2 are on the committee team sheets).KenPom says otherwise…44 and dropping. Usually top 40 teams in KenPom are a “lock” after that it gets dicey. Their record is super inflated to say the least.
I think his point is their metrics are already sketchy. If they lose out(which they won’t) they would have the metrics of a bubble team, but the record of a lock. It’s not that insane of a pointStop. Providence is clearly making the NCAAT
Not so much. Here’s some context for you: UCLA was in the play in game last year (one of the last at large teams in). What was their KenPom going into the tournament? 44. Exactly the position that PC is in right now. It’s crazy for a team with so few losses, but if they don’t snap back they really could slide to the bubble. Their resume overall is much weaker than oursBubble? wth! They can lose every game from here till the tourney and they will not be a bubble team. you guys are crazy
But that’s point they would have to lose out-that’s highly unlikely. But right now vs Butler they look like straight trashI think his point is their metrics are already sketchy. Their resume is both stronger and weaker than ours in different ways. The committee putting them in as a 4 yesterday shows that the committee is de-valuing Providence's predictive metrics in favor of their body of work and resume metrics (but not ignoring them completely.. they'd be a 2-3 seed if only considering strength of record. Commitee knocked them down a seed or two for KenPom et al). Providence is 11-3 against the top 2 quadrants. UCLA last year was 5-8 against top 2 quads entering the tournament. Providence would have to lose like 5 in a row to hit the bubble. Not so much. Here’s some context for you: UCLA was in the play in game last year (one of the last at large teams in).
