Big East Conference Game Thread- February

Because they won't be playing in their decrepit arena and by then the calendar will be March, and well...
I agree that PC never sees success in March but the XL Center is nothing to write home about and had its share of water issues last night
Being you didnt like jchuskie's NBEPOY choices, who are you thinking should win? Just asking

I can't stand Providence like a lot of you on here, but they are winning games. I guarantee if UConn were winning like this it would be,we are tough, we know how to close out games. What a bunch of entitled fans we have on here. I hope Providence doesn't go further than us in tournament, but if they do, I can hear the excuses already

Not sure, but it's gonna be someone with a statline better than 12/2/4. Sanogo has a better case.

Congrats on their first ever big east regular season title in like 50 years . Thats probably like the peak of their accomplishment. Lol

.-.
friendly reminder that the first place team in the little east in ranked below the first place team in conference usa by kenpom.

bump.

an even friendlier reminder that the first place team in the little east is ranked below the third place team in the american AND the third place team in the A10.

In fairness, Villanova winning the regular season title every year isn’t good for anyone- it just makes us ACC North with Villanova instead of Duke. That said, winning the regular season title when the three games you’re missing against the middle-top of the conference could have changed the outcome is a little (or a lot) hollow, but obviously not PC’s fault. Kudos to them for taking care of what they could control.

Nice win. Impressed with Durhams performance.

I’m curious though, what is your feeling on what your team is likely to do in the tournament? Can’t deny you guys are winning a lot but things like being down 19 to butler and squeaking out almost every win can’t instill a lot of confidence.

Except, surprisingly, Duke hasn't won the ACC regular season title in over a decade. Crazy, huh?

I couldn’t even begin to guess. We have had good teams that have lost games I didn’t think we would lose. We had Bryce Cotton on a team of only 6 players almost single-handedly beat a great NC team in NC.

I will say this. I will not be surprised by any outcome.

BTW, my confidence or your confidence doesn’t mean wit to these players. They obviously believe in themselves.

That’s shocking. Well, this might be the year that that little commuter school from Durham finally puts all of the pieces together and shows the country what it can do

I'm assuming you're in VA based on handle, so you should know that UVA is the proper team to place in your analogy w/ 5 of the last 8!

Touché. I should probably know that since it’s looking increasingly likely that the kids are going to choose Charlottesville over Williamsburg (my alma mater) or Storrs, to my chagrin. Word on the street is that UVA’s a pretty good school though LOL

UConn fans tend to forget , that there was UVA , UConn connection. In fact when Lew got the powers to agree to go D1 in football . UVA was the model it wanted to emulate for a State flagship school who had a combination of Athletics and Academics. Fate and ESPN intervened.

DePaul with Freedom-Liberty only giving 2.5 to Georgetown? I’m all over DePaul here.

Marquette is in the tournament, but they are not a mortal lock yet, and they also don't want to go into the tournament with an 11 seed. And Butler doesn't suck as bad as I thought they would. This game is more interesting than I expected.

Who do we want to play in the 3v6 game? I think it’s Creighton without Nembard. They look like they could lose their last 3 games against PC, UConn, and Hall.

It's very unlikely for Creighton to fall to 6 (Seton Hall has to go 3-0, Creighton has to go 0-3), but with Nembhard injury it's potentially a little more possible. I'm still not sure it's likely they lose 2 home games.
