Heading down for the game Saturday. Have to wear my spoiled shirt! The crowd at the Gtown game is pathetic - I’d be surprised if there are 1000 there. It looks at best first 3-4 rows are full. I get that it’s on break. Not a great look for a CBSS game.
Georgetown traditionally does not draw well and students are on break, attendance was listed as 6,600 but the capitol center area is the largest in the Big East at over 20k seats, so 6K looks even smaller. On the bright side. Crowd would have been a sellout at Carnesecca arena. If Georgetown keeps winning they will come. The crowd at the Gtown game is pathetic - I’d be surprised if there are 1000 there. Im sure there were fans spread out around the arena but the low seats in view were sparse. If there is another team I’m pulling for in the BE it’s Gtown, as I feel like that is the most foundational brand for the conference at the most decorated academic institution. Always great to have them strong in that recruiting hotbed. If there is one thing the BE needs it’s to maintain strength in its NE metro areas (DC, NY, Philly), as it’s a big part of its early branding.Georgetown traditionally does not draw well and students are on break, attendance was listed as 6,600 but the capitol center area is the largest in the Big East at over 20k seats, so 6K looks even smaller. He needs to throw a towel over his shoulder and bring it back
They definitely were making noise last night in the game vs Xavier. Your bolded words are so true. GTown has been bad for so long it brought apathy to that fanbase. I am curious to see how many fans show up for the UConn game since UConn is the 2x back to back champs.Georgetown traditionally does not draw well and students are on break, attendance was listed as 6,600 but the capitol center area is the largest in the Big East at over 20k seats, so 6K looks even smaller. It's right there in the name: SWEATER.Never understood the sweater thing. It’s 110 degrees in the gym in a sweater? Rick Majerus wore them too and at his size it looked so hot and uncomfortable, but each to their own I guess.
I have no objection so long as Cooley loses. If there is another team I’m pulling for in the BE it’s Gtown, as I feel like that is the most foundational brand for the conference at the most decorated academic institution. Hurley tried, Kim English didn't try.Do they not sell ugly sweaters any more? Hurley went with a pretty normal, although I wouldn't wear that one, 1/4 zip sweater that looked like something you see everyday at work. English went with a pure black sweater that you can see anywhere. That was no honor to Louie. St. John's fans must be pissed.
No, Kim English did not try. And pity NBC for pretending that he did. ShameHurley tried, Kim English didn't try.
