Never count out Pitt pursuing Miller, given Capel has fewer and fewer supporters and a new AD. Miller remains revered here.

Is that an upgrade for him? Or just going back home the driver? I wonder what the NIL difference is between those two.

Miller is not going anywhere. His last two years he presided over injured teams. They are injured again this year but firmly on the bubble with a butter soft schedule the rest of the way.

Could easily see him getting P5 looks. Has enough time since his Arizona issues and is a fantastic coach. He’s not your normal retread.

I could see him going there. Tough to see him at a lot of other places, not tough at all to see him at Pitt. I think that would be a good fit for both parties, although I dont think Capel is a bad coach.

The Lakers have been gifted the best players in the league since they moved to LA. Saying the Lakers job isn't a great job is beyond stupid but it's coming from Waylon so it's not at all surprising.

Have you lived in LA? I understand the appeal as I have lived there, but I also know, that like many other places (and other jobs!) what you see from the outside is not the same view from the inside. Moreover, other than that weird 2019-2020 season, the LAL have pretty much under-performed through and through. Sure they give you money, but it comes with unwarranted scrutiny, endless calumny, and an invasion of privacy few can endure.

I agree on Holloway, which is why I think he is gone. I think he would even step down to the A10 or AAC to leave. Seton Hall is a lost cause.

Holloway would leave the school he played for, that has a new practice facility inbound, for a downgrade in competition, prestige, and money?

Generally I would say no one would, but Seton Hall is such a mess that it is not out of the question.

I dont think Capel is a bad coach.

He's not a good coach. He does not relate to his players. He does not understand, nor have the ability to communicate, why his "stars" should ignore social media. He has one tourney appearance in six years despite having some very talented rosters. His brother is an issue for Pitt administration. The rest of his staff is cromulent at best.

This year he's got two guards, Rose and Leggett, both of whom would be useful to UConn right now as they can make their own shots and break down defenses. But, they both continually go off script when things get difficult, resulting in contested circus shots instead of looking for the open man. With those two guards, Austin, Corhen, Dunn and Guillermo, Pitt has a solid core than a guy like DH would have in 2nd place in the ACC right now.

Matta is always a threat to leave at the end of a season. That’s a 57 year old man in a 95 year old body.

Holloway might throw himself off a bridge. That job is a horror and I can see him going elsewhere…I think his rep would get him an easier job than SHU.

From what I was told by someone that spoke with Holloway over two years ago is that Seton Hall is not remotely competitive in NIL and Holloway was unhappy about it then. Since I was told that, Seton Hall whiffed bad on transfers for last year and Kadary Richmond staged a 2 game holdout in mid season where he refused to play, and Seton Hall took getting pummeled in the transfer portal to a new level this past offseason.

Seton Hall’s roster would not be competitive with the top half of the A10. There is no way to win anything at that program without a major influx of cash, but unless the Sopranos get a new Esplanade contract, I don’t see where it is coming from.

Pitino in bourbon and stallions makes some sense. Pitino in the corn fields on back end of his career makes none.

I can’t blame Indiana for thinking as deeply about options as possible. There is no obvious choice for them. The one thing you know with Pitino is he’ll reset winning culture fast.

Their ideals will be Brad Stevens, Dusty May and Billy D, or if they can convince Jay Wright. All highly unlikely. They’ll then move on to guys like Pearl, Beard, Golden.

IU is a bit more puritan than the SEC so not sure how welcoming they are to checkered backgrounds.

Brought it up earlier but this carousel is gonna run deep, wondering if Murray/Kimani take a peak this season. So important they stay selective.

They share Zellman, therefore any of the fruits of Zellman, they are entitled to.

They butchered the start of NIL.

They were slow to get moving, formed two dysfunctional collectives that immediately failed and were combined into one collective that has progressively failed.

I’m not sure what they were thinking.
