How in the world do you earn a 3.93 GPA for 1 semester? 4 or 5 A's in 4 credit courses and a B in a 1 credit course, or something like that? How does UConn grade? Maybe an A is worth 3.93 and Paige got a few of them. Or she got something less than an A and the professor who wrecked a 4.0 has gone into hiding?

UConn assigns GPA’s to letter grades as follows: A (4.0), A- (3.7), B+ (3.3), etc. So by my calculation, Paige took 4 courses in the fall earning 3 A’s and 1 A-. That equates to an average GPA of 3.925, rounded up to 3.93. I have no doubt that Geno is on her about the A- ……..

If you factor in credit hours and grades, you can reach 3.93.
Three five-credit hour classes with A grades plus one one-credit hour class with a B grade equals 3.9375.

Not sure you know the college grade system. 3 A plus 1 A- will give you 3.925 GPA.
