Big 12 Glass Court Surface

Ohh someone’s seen Fight Club.
I just looked up Helena Bonham Carter, the actress who played Marla Singer. I had no idea how many films she's been in

If this idea proves itself as commercially successful, will we next see Glasstroturf™ for stadium sports?

If I'm a player I'm real nervous about knee injuries.

To this day I am convinced that Kevin Ware of Louisville suffered that gruesome broken leg injury because the floor was elevated - and his body instinctively tried too hard to stop on a dime before falling off the edge. No way to prove that of course. But I think a regular floor level floor and his brain just lets his momentum carry him out of bounds.

You know who her husband is, right? She stars in most of his.
She was never married to Tim Burton and they split a long time ago. He upgraded to Monica Bellucci.

Wow, what a terrible design they used in the images captured above - and I agree, the way the halfcourt "line" is being displayed isn't very good with it's super low contrast.

I wonder if this will impact officiating at all - like do will they still go to monitor to review a 2 vs 3 with foot on line? Or just use sensors on the court

I was a recipient of a torn up ankle, when our school introduced the rubberized gym surface in 1972. All many of us played on was hardwood floors. The rubberized floors was a whole new thing.

I loved those floors. I only really ever played on them in field house type environments at UConn and other places but I liked the bounce and it was easier on the body.

Early 80s, my HS soccer team visited a shoreline school. To get to the field we had to cross their new rubberized track. We were in awe. Our school had a gravel track.

As for the contrast issue, I feel like the Big 12 tourney has been using a variation of that weird monochrome grey for several years now. Assuming they just switch to a hardwood version of the same color scheme, it may still be an issue spotting the half court line, sidelines, etc.

Well that went about as I expected.

Kind of s___ty that they let the women's tournament go ahead with the bizarre and dangerous floor, but then changed it back after men's teams complained.

The 3 point line on the LED floor would light up after a made three. That has to be weird for the players.
