BET always ends up with some crazy games. However- IMO-- I would be shocked if we don't have to go through PC(semis) and Nova(finals) to win the trophy.. Which we'll do..

Neutral court for them-Home game for us
Agreed. UCONN travels so well because there is literally nothing to do at home / in state.

UConn fans travel so well because they are wealthy and the basketball teams have attracted a passionate fan base, probably due to their histories of success and a lack of competing "home teams" in Connecticut. Nice cliché though.

No matter what the road will be tough on and after Thursday. I want the 3 seed. That means we play the latest times on both Thursday and Friday. A crowd full of UConn fans, late night after hours at a bar….it will be a raucous crowd full of UConn fans. Seems more BE tourney like rather than a 2:30 mid afternoon Thursday games where people will be rushing to get in. Then we play 6:30 on Friday, still not the latest game.

Let’s go Hall on Saturday.

Totally agree. I wish we won at Creighton, and beyond the obvious reasons we all wanted to win at Creighton, I wanted it personally. I'm out in Michigan on business next week, and am flying back into NYC Thursday for the BET. I had to switch my flights around after the loss Wednesday because I have no idea if we are playing at 2:30 or 9:30. If we locked it up Wednesday I could've taken a nice 11:00 AM direct flight out of Grand Rapids got into La Guardia at 2:00 , had a nice dinner and went to the evening session. Rested and raring to go. But because we might be the 4 seed The only flights I could get that would guarantee me to be in NYC in the morning with enough time to get to the Garden are at 5:15 am to Hartford or 6 AM to NYC. I'm going to have to leave my hotel at like 3:00 am to make sure I'm in the city by lunchtime in case we are playing afternoon. That's going to be a looooong day. Especially now if we are the 3, because I cant switch flights again.

And you're right, the 9:30 game Thursday full of UConn fans after pregaming will be nuts.

Proximity and previous MSG success makes them home games. CBB world understands the UConn brand/track record at MSG-esp. in March

Don't care who we play, give me the 3 seed
I rather the 4 seed so we can play Marquette who we beat twice and Providence who we owe instead of Creighton(Who's our Daddy? LOL!) or Villanova until the finals.

I've stated several times over the years that it is never a good idea to project out and hope for favorable matchups. The only thing that you really can do is win the games in front of you and let other games (and future matchups) fall as they may.

I absolutely want to win Saturday. Personally I would like to see Creighton win their game this weekend (as among other things it will make our recent loss to them feel less disappointing) but I won't be upset with any outcome.

As for anyone who believes any game in this tournament will be a walkover, I can assure you (from decades of experience seeing it first hand) that nothing will be easy. I can also assure you that there will be a number of great games and an atmosphere that cannot be matched.

Awesome! Reminds me of Oklahoma is OK!
I love "elation is not a location." Lol.

I actually really do like the beat; I believe it's a sample of A Tribe Called Quest's "Can I Kick It?", which itself is comprised of a lot of samples; I wanted to use it to make a season highlight video for my daughter's soccer team:

So cringe. Ah yes- things that other states don't have. A bridge near water, pizza and beer, dancing in a club and graffiti (?). Oh look- it looks like you can do aerobic yoga in CT too! What a game changer.

They should show the (little) items that CT does have to offer that other states may not. A shot of a crazy UConn atmosphere at Gampel would actually have been a nice touch. Show the Pepe's Pizza sign, not just a shot of people eating pizza. Show a train sign that points to Boston one way, New York the other. Things people actually may consider CT for.

This is an anti-post/handle

Great Pick!

Seriously though they should've just used the 40 Hallmark channel Xmas movies that were shot in either Essex or Chester in the last 10 years. The one thing I hate worse than waiting in traffic for the rip off essex steam train to pass by, is not being able to get to lunch because of a chick channel movie production.

Well he's a much better coach than your coach, but OK.
Your seriously joking right, Cooley is up for National coach of the year, Hurley is up for biggest clown of the year!!

You're joking right? One of the most anticipated BET's in years and it doesn't interest you? You do know that winning the BET would help our resume incredibly right?
The BET interests me. The exact bracket and combination/order of teams that we would have to beat in order to win it does not.

Marquette/Seton Hall in the first round, either one would be fine.
Most likely Providence or Nova in the semis and then the other one in the finals.

It doesn't matter what everyone else's seed is.

All that matters is winning those games.

Upsets:

-Xavier over Providence
-Marquette over Creighton
-UConn over Villanova

One other upset that I think is possible is for DePaul to upset St. John's in the first round, but I think St. John's will still beat them because of home court advantage. But still It doesn't really matter because Villanova can man-handle either of them in the 2nd round.

Besides those 3 (maybe 4?) upsets, everything should go as planned. Time to get our 8th title.

Terrible take. There's plenty to do in CT. Lifelong resident here who has never had a problem finding things to. UConn travels well because it is a passionate fan base with more disposable income than most.

And is about the only game in town. Nowhere else to place focus they have that advantage. For opposing situation look to SoCal (region not a particular school) and the difficulty keeping fans engaged.

Spent a good chunk of my life in CT as well. Proud that I talk with no accent! (no MA or NY influence in the way I speak) Point being, all these "things you can do" can be done just about anywhere in the Northeast in particular. Thankfully MA, RI and NY are so close. I don't know anywhere other than Mystic / Westport for a couple days that appeal as a destination. Maybe the casinos, but that draw is winding down for out of staters with options in their own states growing quickly. No question not having competing professional sports, etc. helps the fanbase bigtime. Same deal in Providence. Nobody cared much about BC basketball even prior to the ACC move. Too many competing priorities, schools, pro sports.

Cooley is the BE COY, this didn’t age well for you LOL
Was there ever any question? I assume he will win all the coach of the year awards. And if there was an award for losing to Rhode Island, UMass, Penn, Long Beach State, and College of Charleston in the last 5 years he’d win that one too.

BTW you lost to Rhode Island and UMass twice.
