Give me 3 names: During the Big East days, pre-Big East and post Big East.

I'd say best performer while at UConn. The NFL is a different animal.

I'm just giving 3 names:
Dan Orlovsky
Donald Brown
Darius Butler

I think that's about as good as it gets.

That said, Sio and Yawin went through periods where they absolutely took over games under DC Brown. Some of the most dominant LB play I have ever seen.

No disrespect to Sio or Smallwood but Fincher and Bama Wilson were much better IMO.

I think they probably were better, especially Wilson. But, under Brown's system those two just wreaked havoc. Sio was excellent off the edge and Brown had him in positions where opposing offenses just never knew where he would be coming from.

John Dorsey
Nick Giaquinto
Donald Brown/Tyvon Branch

I remember when Donald Brown was drafted by the Colts. I think Edgerrin James just retired the year before and Brown was sharing duties with Jame's long time back up who was pretty good himself. I don't remember the name, but I think he played at SU.

Fincher always impressed me. Sio is the other that I remember when someone asks.

3 on offense: Dan O, Donald Brown and Terry Caulley. I don't think there is another answer.

3 on defense is much tougher. I'll go with Darius Butler, Alfred Fincher and Kendall Reyes. I really wanted to sub Trevardo Williams for Reyes and Lutrus for Fincher.

Dan, Don, Sherm
Butler, Branch, Fincher (truth is a lot of defensive guys could be in the running including a guy lining up this season)

Caulley, Dan O, Donald Brown. In that order.

Caulley was the most electric player we ever had while healthy. Put him on last year's team and we win 3-4 more games. That ability to make a play out of nowhere gives you a huge edge when you play so many close games and have a great D like we do.

Maybe I mis-read the original post but....I broke it down in to the 3 categories and when they played in each category the most.

Pre Big East- John Dorsey, Shane Stafford, Dan Orlovsky

Big East Days- Donald Brown, Darius Butler, Tyvon Branch/ Jordan Todman

Post Big East-Geremy Davis, Shamar Stephen, Yawin Smallwood with Newsome & N Thomas creeping up
