Kind of an odd question, but it involves UConn so whatever:

I think 2004 Uconn should be 2 and the 1996 UConn team is better than at least 2 on this list, but the big issue:

2. Duke ’99. It might be odd to see a team ranked this high that did not win an NCAA title, but this Duke team was better than any of Coach K’s four title teams except the Christian Laettner-led ’92 squad. It belongs up there with ’91 UNLV as being among the best teams not to win a title.

9. UConn ’99. This team didn’t have a lot of future NBA star power (aside from Richard Hamilton), but it went 34-2 and won the title.

A KU team who lost in the Sweet 16 is above the '99 team.

The better team won in 1999. Duke needed the Alaskan Assassin to shoot out of his mind to keep it close.

Did you seriously list 99 Duke over 99 UConn? This list is an absolute joke with 99 Duke at #2 and 99 UConn at #9. We were better than Duke and pretty confident we would have gone undefeated without Rip and Voskuhl missing games. Where the heck is Florida? They went back to back and had a frontcourt of Noah, Horford and Brewer, that's excellent for NBA standards forget about college.

You clearly missed the question and who wrote the article.

Put in a little effort at least before getting riled up.

I saw the question and I'm wondering where the heck is Florida? How do you exclude a team that won back to back in the last 15 years and could probably beat any team on that list.

Clearly you did not.

The guy only asked about 5 teams. Are you upset he did not ask about Florida? If so, way to be that guy.

Because I think it's dumb leaving out Florida, when they arguably had the best team of the last 15 years.

All due respect to the late Shark and the '91 Rebs, but the 1985 Georgetown Hoyas was the best team not to win the title. Villanova had to shoot over 78% to beat them in the title game. The big east had 3 ranked teams in '85. Besides UNLV, how many ranked teams has the Big West contributed in their history?

Close call on that one, but I agree. Throw in the fact that there was no shot clock in 1985 as well.

I think our 2006 team was probably our most talented and had they pulled their heads out of the sand, they should of won an NC with ease.

I think the 01 Dook team was better than Dook's 99 team.

'04 UCONN must have had one of the highest margins of victory ever in the NCAA tourney winning every game (except duke) by an average of 10 points....
Plus 6 freaking first round picks on that roster!!

That is my #1 team for sure, but I am pretty bias.

Florida getting a little disrespect that usually is saved for our Huskies

I want to see anyone from the past 15 years beat UConn 2004.
The odd thing is 1996 UK was included in the list, I am not a math major but isn't that 18 years ago, not 15?

Even with that, 96 UK was a great team, other than that 04 UConn is favored against any team since that time.

Of course he also said the past 15 years and the first team was from 19 years ago so ...

One of the great tragedies for UConn was Ricky getting hurt. I think that our '96 team gives UK a run for the money if we get past Mississippi State - which we'd have done with a full lineup.

On the flip side, I still think Iowa State with Niang would have ripped us up last year. It took a while for karma to pay us back, but it did.

Kemba's team may have been the best "tournament" team. What that team did will probably not be repeated.

The 2004 UConn Huskies are the best team on that list, even with Okafor in a wheelchair and a back brace.
