Best Dunkers in UConn history?

Discussion being and ends with Sticks Robinson. I mean his dunk video is 12 minutes long. Two other prolific dunkers in the UConn top 5 - Ray Allen and Ryan Boatright - are both just 6 minutes. End of story

Well he was here for 4 years while Rudy was here for 2.

Sticks is the all around best dunker we’ve ever had. He had the hops, the ferocity, and the length to do anything he wanted.

Rudy Gay is right behind him. Insanely talented, athletic and more acrobatic. He was longer, and this made his dunks look “easier” than Sticks, which is why he doesn’t take the top spot. Rudy could do anything he wanted and gets punished for it.

Ryan Boatright not being on this list is criminal, he’s bonafide top 5, and I argue he should be number 3.

Ray & Donyell finish out the list. Then we have 25 guys we can justify 5-10.

Sticks

Rudy, Ray, Boat

2009 team, I wanted that one bad for Stanley. His story was a great one and he left us too soon

Rudy’s biggest issue here was that he found a way to have games where he only took 10 shots.

And Calhoun wanted to take his head off every time that happened lol

Boatright belongs on that list and he belongs right up there with Stanley. Dude is 5'10 and he was constantly catching alley oops. Crazy athlete.

If only we had someone half as fast as him this year.

One of the best dunks I've ever seen was by Tony Robertson. I wish knew the game, but he was driving baseline, from well outside the free throw side-lines - he looked like he started his jump behind the backboard.

I suppose you have to go with quality, quantity and consistency.
Lyman DePriest had massive dunks
Toraino Walker was dangerous
James Bouknight if he stayed longer
Stephon Castle if he stayed longer

Not Solo Ball
It's shocking how little lift and explosion he gets when gathering to go up in the lane, the dunk today he missed was in part because of his low elevation above the rim

Agreed, thinking about viciousness at the rim, Stanley had that and bounce. Boatright, Gordon, even Bouknight I think of just bounce but that obviously has to do with their height too.
Most thunderous dunk I ever witnessed was by Ben Gordon playing against, I think UNC or Duke. It was so long ago.

Interesting read. Who did they miss in the UConn draft of best dunkers in Husky history?

Solo ball not

Marcus Johnson, Edmund Saunders, and Tony Robertson threw down some slams as well.

I’d take one of them over Cliff.
I was racking my brain for a little talked about guard who threw down some vicious dunks, and once I saw your post, bingo! Tony Robertson. He should definitely be in the top 10 conversation.

I'd add Caron Butler for honorable mention. He had some rim bending slams if my memory serves me.
