Best Bars to watch UConn Games?

try Blind Rhino in Black Rock. Lots of TV
Thanks. We landed on Archie Moore’s Milford. Not sure how many TV they have, but will get there early to get best spot

There's a new sports bar in the Rochambeau Mall in the Milldale section of Southington (formerly The Tipping Chair). Lots of screens & good tv sound. THEY WILL have the sound on of the game most patrons are watching.

If you’re in the Valley, I highly recommend Porky’s in Shelton. Lots of TVs, great wings, they know how to rip
Pretty much every time I've been at Porkys, party favors were readily available for purchase

I dont know how you guys do it.

I respect it and have a tinge of envy too. It sounds like fun, but I can't watch UConn games at bars, parties, gatherings, whatever. I either have to be at the game, or I have to be home . I won't invite people over, I won't watch with family members at their place. I can't do it. I'm too wound up.

I often wonder what it would be like to watch a high stakes game at a bar with like minded UConn fans. Probably fun to get pumped up Rowdy, drunk, and all that. But then it wouldn't be fun because at some stressful moment I would probably put a cigarette out in one your eyes (and let's face it, I'd probably be justified) and that would be real bad form socially. At least I recognize my shortcomings and allow others to have a good time by not going.

Have fun!

Grady Tavern in Manchester, hands down best spot to watch UConn in Hartford County

If you are going to be there, I may make an exception to my self-exile. "You got a smoke?"

I was at a bar for Tate's game. One of the best days in my life. Very rarely have I experienced universal joy like that. With beer.

Of course, same place two days later and everyone is staggering out like Steve McQueen at the end of The Cincinnati Kid.

I'm the same way. There's pacing, cursing at the refs, cursing to no one in particular, high fiving the wife who is knitting or sewing, but I'm way too keyed up to even eat. Can drink.

I have friends who won't watch away games in public. They go too nuts. I don't care about going nuts in public, so I will watch anywhere. I am great about tuning everything out and just watching the game. I had some friends and family over for the Zaga game and I basically ignored them all once the ball was tipped.

Now that you mention it, when Newton hit that 3 against St. Mary's, I let out a "how's that taste" that I don't think went over too well.

The fans on this board are not exactly casual fans. We shouldn't have to conform to common human etiquette when watching our Huskies in a tourney semi. Non zealots don't understand.
Yep, fan is short for fanatic.

I get it. I like to watch alone or with one friend and sometimes his son. Home is fine, or a bar where I can truly focus on and watch the whole game. It can’t be some hybrid party situation where the game is an afterthought. Like superbowl parties. Big clear unobstructed TV. The game is more important than the surroundings.

In the old days on the late 80s early 90s, several of us would go to Challenges in Hartford. Next to Russian Lady. That was fun because the whole place was UConn fans and you had projection TVs back when your home TV sucked. I saw the Clemson “the shot” game there. Now that was a memory.

Unfortunately, I missed the 1999 championship game because I was at the Stones show in Hartford. The cool part was that they put the ending of the game on the big screen and the crowd erupted when Langdon tripped. Biggest crowd that I was a part of watching a UConn that I did not attend. The street outside the Civic Center and Russian Lady was nuts.

I was on another site and someone commented that UConn fans need to chill out. Obviously, they do not get it.

I don't have many memories of attending big games away from home. For the most part, I watch from home as well since I am such a psycho watching the game.

Hanging in St Petersburg Florida this weekend. Any suggestions on a place to watch the championship game?

Was at Bobby Vs tonight with a loud UCONN crowd! Maybe 200 fans

Anyone watch at Two Roads, how was it? Trying to decide on where to watch the title.

Ah, the memories. Hung out there before 77-74. While a national sports radio program was telling us that Duke already beat the 2nd best team and was going to kill UConn. I had to tell them during the break that UConn had beaten Michigan State earlier that season. They weren't impressed and continued with the view that Duke was going to beat up UConn. The rest, as they say, was history.
