I loved Rashad Anderson. He made so many clutch shots. Obviously the big 3 that sparked our comeback vs Duke in 04, the 3 vs Washington in 06, and I think some people forget his go ahead 3 vs Pitt in the last couple minutes of the Big East Championship game in 04. Niels Giffey has been the closest thing we've had to Rashad Anderson since he graduated in 2006. It really changes the game when you have just a solid shooter that can knock down threes.i hope Vance develops into the next great shooter in program history.

Giffey was great but I coulda killed him in that one game a few years back, I think vs Cincy, when he missed like 3 or 4 freethrows in a row. It was a very ugly 51-45 Uconn win, but missed freethrows, oddly enough, kept cincy in that game. Oddly enough because otherwise, that team was a great FT shooting team.

Rash and John Gwynn were multiple year sixth men so they are the ones I immediately think of...

Ray's freshmen year was outstanding as was Ben's --> 12.6ppg, 3apg, 44/41/73

Throw Charlie V in too --> 9ppg, 5rpg, 51/37/67

May not be the best of all time but Kromah deserves some credit
Kromah was a nice asset on that 2014 Championship team. One thing about that team in 2014 was it was loaded with very solid shooters. Just look at our free throw shooting in the NCAA Tournament. We also had Napier, Giffey, Boatright, Daniels, and Kromah who were all threats to knock down threes.

Ray's frosh year wins best single, I like Lyman for best album cuz it was 4yrs of consistently bringing the defensive wood, changed the cultural toughness of UConn basketball. Not much O but had the thunderous dunk in NIT championship, set tone and that's enough.

Kemba Walker for a stretch in 2009 was certainly a spark off the bench. Once Dyson went down he shifted into the starting lineup more.

Rashad's FT's at the end were even more impressive than his threes imo. Wonder what he was saying to himself as he took them. At that moment, it seemed like he was born to take those shots.

John Gwynn. He could instantly turn a game around when UConn's offense was stagnant.

When a 6th man/role player plays as important a role in a championship run as Lassan did, he should never be forgotten. The only think stopping him from at least being in the conversation about our best 6th man ever would be the fact that his UConn career was only one season.

6th man value doesn't always come in scoring outbursts.
I give you Edmund Saunders, who deserves consideration based on his 77-74 defensive contributions and his "Edzilla" terrorizing of Arizona's Loren Woods alone.

I think that other than the above play, the thing I liked the most about Edmund was that he went from "academic non-qualifier" as a freshman to staying in Storrs through the summer following his senior season, to earn his degree in Political Science.
