Starting with our run through the Tournament last year and continuing right through this year, surprising everyone at how good we'd continue to be despite losing 3 guys who've logged NBA minutes.

We've lost only 1 game in calendar year 2024.
31-3, including 21-2 in the Big East. Regular season and conference tournament champions.
#1 in KenPom, again.
#1 seed, and should be the #1 overall seed.

It is really hard to win a championship and come back even better, and we've done it.

The only question that remains is whether we complete the repeat (2007 Florida) or fall short of what appeared to be inevitable (1991 UNLV).

Yep. You’re usually playing with house money the season after winning a title, but this team is so dominant that anything less than a title will be a disappointment. More than happy to live with that risk to be experiencing the joy of watching the last 2 seasons. Just incredible.

These guys are just very special. There have been so many great sports stories over the years but the heart, teamwork and unselfishness of this team is incomparable. The joy really leaves one speechless.
So happy for all of them and the fans. One more mountain to go.

to bookend a BE regular season title in record fashion, a BET title with 2 NCAA titles would be pretty freakin awesome

Only other window would be 1998-1999.

2 BET Titles
2 BE Regular Season Titles
2-seed E8 run
1-seed Title run
1 Consensus 2nd Team AA
1 Consensus 1st Team AA

What's different is having the title the first year makes the greatness of the second year feel even better. And the 1999 team felt desperate for fans: if they couldn't get to the Final Four then, when?

I posed this question via post earlier this season. Thank you basketball gods for the quick and clear response.

I dunno, I think a list of our 365 best days would be, like, non-contiguous and include all 5 natties and a few conference and preseason tourney runs... A lot of them would be recent though. </S>

This is better. While that was certainly enjoyable, as you say, there was a real pressure to win. We've been blessed with the chance to watch this dominant team with rings on their fingers. Awesome.

BTW, the WSJ article points out that Florida only lost 10% of its minutes from its first title team. We lost 58%!!!
