Best 3-point shooters of all time (excluding Ray Allen)

If the 3 point line had been in effect in the late 60's, there would have been NO question who was the best.
Wes Bialosuknia. Hands down. You youngsters who never saw Wes, have no idea of the range he had. 25 feet. He lit up the field house on many an occasion. The Poughkeepsie popper was an excellent nickname. Yup #44 could, and did light up scorecards on many a night.

My god this guy was beautiful to watch. As a 2 guard, I grew up on and tried to be like MJ and Ray, but this guy is the smoothest guard I've seen play.

That elevation, the herky jerky yet smooth movements, getting to his spots in only a few, unwasted movements, not to mention that gorgeous J ... If I could look like 1 player when playing, it would be Ben Gordon.

Interesting that Rip Hamilton is not mentioned much in this discussion. I clearly remember his ability to make the clutch 3 when it was needed in that NC run. There would not have been that NC without him.

Yeah, Ben had some broad shoulders and was just so strong vertically. That highlight film is just filthy with his pull ups in traffic.

Kemba was clutch but he averaged:
‘08-‘09: 27.1%
‘09-‘10: 33.1%
‘10-‘11: 33.0%

My bad on missing Donyell Marshall, Deandre Daniels and Denham Brown

Donyell peak average was 37.0% ‘92-‘93, which didn’t meet the criteria
Denham peak average was 41.7% ‘02-‘03 his freshman year but languished ever since
Deandre peak average was 41.7% ‘13-‘14, I was going to add him but I forgot

Could of added all of them but I didn’t want to over saturate the poll. I guess there too many good 3-point shooters lol

I think when it comes down to the most skilled 3-point shooters Niels Giffey has my vote.

When he shot 6 for 8 from 3 against Memphis in 2013-2014 in the AAC quarterfinals was incredible

He hit his stride in his senior year and maybe part of his junior year. The others were more consistent throughout their college career.

Well that’s probably my 3 favorite and also 3 smoothest...so I’m certainly distinguishing between smooth look/game and how good they were.

Clearly I think Jordan and Ray are pretty well known for their smooth offensive games and again, that’s my top 3 so I’m splitting hairs.

But I guess I’m just emphasizing his particular aspects that I found pretty and smooth and how I’d love my game to LOOK. Ray and Ben are back and forth for me 1/2 on fav/smoothness scale.

I distinguish between those things in ways maybe others don’t. I think of athleticism and grace and IQ when I think of MJ. MJ pull up or attack were beautiful, but nothing’s prettier than Ben on a hesitation pull up from deep with his elevation and high arc. This is all subjective based on prettiness/smoothness.

I do not disagree, but he was deadly accurate on both his 2s and 3s (something we have missed since 'Bazz)
