With the July recruiting travel over, UConn hopes to nail down official visits this month with several Class of 2015 recruits, including Chris Clarke, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Virginia, and Jean Marc Christ Koumadje, a 7-3 center from Florida, and Bennie Boatright [sic], a 6-9 power forward from Los Angeles (no relation to guard Ryan Boatright).

Don already corrected it

I see what you did here.

On the subject of Boatwright, I have to imagine that he and Enoch are mutually exclusive, given how similar their games are. I wonder if getting aggressive with BB is intended to get Enoch to commit sooner.

You're surprised Dom made a spelling mistake? I don't think you've read enough of his articles.

The fact that that guy makes a full salary putting out the miserable work and awful writing skills he has is baffling to me. There's no good writer who can actually write English who wants to cover the Huskies?!

If I recall correctly, Mike Anthony covered UConn until they cut the baseball beat. Because they're overpaying Dom by so much, they gave him the UConn beat, and we're all forced to read him now.

Dom. I only know this because my father once e-mailed him to ask a question and mistakenly addressed him as "Don." Apparently Dominic freaked out at the error in his reply, which I found somewhat ironic given the frequency of his journalistic faux pas. I am guessing it has been discussed elsewhere on this board before, but considering he's essentially lead coverage of CT's most distinguished newspaper for a team boasting the state's biggest fan base.. he leaves an awful lot to be desired, to put it mildly. I was never amazed by his predecessor, Mike Anthony, but in retrospect he seemed to produce more 'original' stories (as opposed to shoddy rehashes of material I had already come across elsewhere) and offered much better insights in a more well-articulated manner.

Dom is awful. Out of the whole state, the only guys I'd consider to be great are Duffy and Silver. Des brings a lot of info, but he may be the most sensitive reporter I've ever interacted with.

I also think David Borges does a really good job

he does, usually pretty good recruiting info too...my only issue that I have with him like I do the rest of the beat guys is that none of them actually seem like basketball fans. Duffy was the only one that I got the impression actually liked and followed basketball, the rest it just just seems like their job and they would rather be covering baseball.

I'm pretty sure Duffy went to UConn so he's definitely a fan. The only beat guy I really have a problem with is Dom. He's so freaking lazy and sloppy it's embarrassing. A 14 year old UConn fan would do a better job.

not just UConn, but basketball in general. With these other dudes with the perspective that they write from and the comments they make it just seems like they are covering basketball because that's what they're paid to do. They don't approach it like Duffy or even Silver(who's mainly a football dude) when I see the both of them commenting on hoop, they both seem like genuine fans of the game.

Duffy wrote for daily campus and is/was a good dude. He definitely works the hardest out of all of them.

@huskiesnyc Borges is pretty good too. Good catch on that one.

Unless this verbal goes as well as the last one USC received from a Boat(w)right.
