Benedict and Mora

Let's hope Jim Mora stays at UConn to continue building this program. He's exactly the coach we need. At this point in his career, he likely has little interest in the high-stress demands of a major program. At UConn, he can forge a true legacy with genuine job security and, most importantly, the full appreciation of a grateful fanbase.
Stanford head coaching job opportunity concerns me.

I think we will know by next Sunday who goes to Stanford. What's interesting is that Frank Reich, the interim Stanford coach, is the same age as Mora and was an NFL head coach for 6 years and an experienced OC. Why not hire him?
My guess he does not want the job. Just was willing to fill in for one year.

And remember, Andrew Luck is their GM. My guess is he either goes with a younger, analytical driven hire, or to your point, tie goes to the interim (and Luck’s former coach at Indy).

If Stanford does has interest in Mora, that could be a concern. I'm not sure many other schools (that we could not compete with for a coach's services) would have him close to the top of their lists.

I also believe Stanford's initial list would have three or four pretty substantial names on it even if Mora was one of the names.

I don't see Mora leaving for Stanford or Oregon St. Both of these are arguably worse jobs than UConn in 2025

Oregon State yes. At Stanford he would have amazing resources.

But not to worry there are like 6 guys more appealing that can be available, like Chesney and the North Texas coach.
I mean OSU bought a $1.5m QB.. they have more money than UCONN for football..

North Texas coach is getting interest from OKST and Auburn.. not UConn

Why do people keep listing Chesney. I think we missed our opportunity with him when he was at Holy Cross.

You do realize UConn paid Mora more than Oregon St.'s head coach this year and the UConn Athletic Department is larger than Oregon St.?
I agree about Oregon State. But I think his second point is correct. North Texas coach getting interest from Oklahoma State and Auburn.

Bray didn’t need nor want more $$ he took a pay cut. You clearly have 0 clue.

Our NIL is much larger football wise. Lol you actually think UConn is better job than OSU. Oh my word.

Also if mora was paid more and given more why would he interview ;)

Oregon State is about to experience the abyss our program experienced from 2016-2021. It's going to get very bad there unless they somehow miraculously hire the next Saban or Smart. That program is all but dead without the benefits of Pac12 or being able to ride the wave Oregon generated for them for decades. I'd say the same thing about Washington St but they always seem to hire well.

The question shouldn't be about mora leaving but what he does about coordinators. Will he be able to keep Sammis? Will someone get promoted if Sam is gets poached? Will he hire someone new? I love the speculation of the coaching carousel! It's almost as entertaining as real football!

They are likely to take a Moneyball approach - 100%. Though Mora and Reich are good guys who treat people well - moving forward from the Troy Taylor imbroglio.
