Another terrible beer: gose. It’s like drinking Bartyles & James. Disgusting.

Which Gose did you have? I've had some that were crummy. Others is fantastic.

This is like saying lagers suck because Iron City tastes like iron.

Understand this all subjective.

I’ve never had a gose, Belgian ale, or saison that I’ve liked.

Totally agree, intolerable... created as a cheap source of hydration for farm workers - although maybe a step up from the water options of the day.
I also think Belgian Ales and the Trappist monk stuff is waaay overrated as well.

Hard to beat a solid american IPA...even given the uderstanding that "NE" IPA is getting overdone..
Anyone had anything from Lord Hobo Brewing? Picked up some Hobo Life Session IPA on a recommendation... hoping it doesn't suck...

Hobo Life's session was one of my favorites. All citra I believe? It was very good sitting by the pool on a hot summer day.

Yep, all Citra. A little more hoppy bitterness (IMO) than most Citra's...still prefer the Wally Jr. from Wachusett, but not bad at all.

It's a decent session IPA. Not as good as Super Session #2. The main drawback is that the unexpected level of bitterness means I don't really ever want more than one at a time, which is a failing in a session beer.

It's been about 9 months since I've had it, but I don't recall it being overly hoppy...at least not for an IPA. I had no problem knocking back 3 or 4 of them...then again, I love IPAs, and other than excessively hoppy beers, I don't mind the bitterness.

Agree on the Hobo. Haven't had Super Session #2, but really really liked #8.

Had Sip of Sunshine for the first time this weekend, and I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed. It's a really solid IPA. That is all I can say about it. I am not sure if maybe it got all it's love before the NE IPA revolution, but if I had to choose between that and like Tree House Julius or even some of the Other Half stuff, I pick those hands down. Curious to get other's take on this.

Also - saw it was brewed at two roads - also struck me as odd that a company/beer with that name notoriety is still going the nomad brewing route.

I totally agree.... it used to be, you had to know "a guy" at the store. when it was coming in, plus the password, to get "A" can of it. Sooooo overrated....
I think an earlier poster hit it with ..."used to never be able to find any for sale, now, it's "on sale" '.....

I agree. I say the same about Heady Topper. Good, but not great.

Best Lord Hobo beer I've had is Consolation Prize. Agree with Jimmy Serano that Boom Sauce is just OK.

I was in Mass last weekend and went to Tree House Brewery. Left after I saw a 1.5 hour line well into the parking lot to get beer? WTF is wrong with the people up there? I had a couple at my brothers house in Windsor...Julius and Doppleganger IPA's I believe. OK beer...don't see the cult attraction though as it's not that good IMHO. My brother feels different though. His fridge is full of them. He drinks the TH cool-aid.

SOS is still excellent.

Beer chasers are abandoning it like yesterday's newspaper and that's okay with me.

I am anxiously waiting for Lawsons new brewery to open up in a few months. Hope to finally be able to try double sunshine and the other beers that will become more available.

That's OK with me too. I got SoS for $11.99 a 4-pack with no limit last week. (Silly to think how that's a bargain these days!)

Every trip into the package store there's a new beer from an unheard of brewery with a $15.99 4-pack of DIPA. It's absurd. Same thing happened with the cigar industry back in the mid-to-late '90s.

Every time you turn around, a new brewery is opening her in CT. It's hard to believe the market isn't fully saturated yet.

Most of the Tree House beers are excellent. Most people would agree with that. Are they worth going to the brewery and standing in line for an hour and a half? Well that's a personal preference, just like the taste of the beer. Friends of mine go during the week and most of the time the wait is about 30 minutes. We usually split an order with a few people so whoever waits in line comes out of there with over $300 of beer and only has to go once in a while. We all think it's worth it.

I've been saying for a while that the ones that don't brew more than average beers will die. This brewery expansion era just can't last much longer.

There are now about 6 or 7 breweries within 15 minutes of my house but 3 of them don't produce any beers I've really enjoyed so I won't go back. The problem with me is that I'm totally spoiled by drinking Trillium and Tree House beers a lot so that most of the new stuff I try isn't very good in comparison. But there are a lot of good breweries in the Northeast so I will continue to try other stuff. I usually check Untappd before I get a beer and only try the beer if it's rated around 3.9 or higher. I've noticed over the years that my tastes are pretty consistent with that overall rating. Under 3.8 or so and most of the time I don't like it that much. Over 3.9-4.0 and I usually like it. Obviously that's not fool proof and I've disagreed many times with the overall rankings. Most of the time I just like to try the local stuff whatever a bar or restaurant has and sometimes the best rated local beer isn't rated in that higher range but I order it anyway. I can't remember the last time I had a mass produced beer brewed with adjuncts. Probably at least 30 years ago.

As far as stuff you can find at the packy, SoS is still up there with me. I'll get a Sip, then try something else, etc. Inevitably I end up liking Sip more.

I think it's good (cult wise) because you have to wait in line to get it. Can't buy in a store. Once you see it in stores people will move on.

I mean you couldn’t possibly be more wrong. Personally I’d never wait that long for beer. Longest I’ve ever waited at Treehouse is 15 min. More than one occasion I walked right up. The beer is just that friggin good. As ADub mentioned, others are (or have) caught up.

Treehouse is awesome. I've only had two of their beers (Bright and Green) but both were tremendous. I don't think I would wait over an hour on a regular basis to get it though. I'd rather go down to my local package store that always has SoS.

Expected post from a cult member...LOL

I don't really disagree but I have had only 2 of their beers once each and although good not nearly worth waiting in line for. My brother on the other hand says it's the best of the best and will wait in long lines. Maybe it's just not my taste in beer or I am not indoctrinated into how good it is.
