Like this move. TJ Gardner is another player who probably has the physical talent to move to DE I also like Gardner's potential as a tight end.
Why would we move a 3* LB to TE lmao - we haven't gotten any productivity from that group so let's move one of the guys who can contribute and move him to TE...
When I first saw this thread, I was worried that he had somehow transferred to Delaware.
Can't use his edge rush skills in the Betty Crocker front seven system... That might work with more experienced personnel but we can't do that now.. we need somebody to put pressure on the opposing D's QBWe're all in on the move to a 4-3. He's built in the mode of Cody Brown and Jesse Joseph. To be honest, he had shown nothing from LB spot.
Let him sit, grow a little into a bigger frame, and learn... Wouldn't be surprised if he takes somebody's spot in a year or 2...Hunter Webb, when he plays someday will be a force. Seems to have a real nose for the ball and flat out hits people. I thought he might be a guy who played this year but haven t heard a word about him

yup
The Lack of LB production makes you wonder what Todd Orlando brought all those years ago. Because ... while I have hope for Kevon Jones ... there isn't much buzz coming from the Wholley guys. Beavers has size and talent; so, this is a logical next step. He's a typology none of the others are. LB? Gardner or Harris next year; try others as they mature. But this is woeful.
It is woeful and a half. In fairness, however, look at most of our best LBs. Fincher redshirted. 'Bama -- redshirted. Lutrus -- redshirted. Mo Lloyd -- redshirted. Danny Lansanah -- redshirted. Sio Moore -- redshirted. Not every LB is going to be as good as those guys. Not every LB Edsall recruited the first time was as good as those guys. But we are asking guys to do something that we never asked our NFL LBs to do.
yup

The idea behind a 350lb defensive end is that your OLB types Beavers, Terry and Thomas could fly off the edge and bring pressure. Through 2 games that hasn't really come close to happening. I think they've seen enough to shake things up. I give them credit. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. How do we go from initially thinking a 350 lb Travis jones best fits at DE for us to thinking a 225 lb Beavers is the best fit?
That seems to be an inconsistent defensive philosophy. At this point, we’re just throwing stuff against the wall in hopes that it sticke
Now who ever would leave UConn only to reappear at Delaware? Oh....never mind. When I first saw this thread, I was worried that he had somehow transferred to Delaware.
is this move an indictment on Wholley?

I know he is an alum, but sometimes I wonder if he is all sizzle no steak. Fist pumps and moxie are great, but Orlando and Lyndon those guys churned backers like nobody's business. Underrated name, Razul Wallace who would be supplanted by Fincher. Guy made like 20 tackles one game I saw.I was questioning Pudge's statement about Wholley's guys not getting much buzz lack of production. Wholley doesn't have much to work with tbh. we don't have personnel for the D crocker wanted to run
