Andy hiring the player's mother some years ago was the most eye-opening.

The AAU bit doesn't bother me as much - maybe not very ethical, but chances are you are getting a good coach. Andy got a former player who sat on the bench looking like a deer in a headlight.

Or, how about the advantage of Terry Williams-Flaunoy - who doesn't need to hire her brother to get the advantage.

One cannot control family connections but dealing with AAU coaches an family is easy. A simple rule denying an AAU coach from being on staff where any current player is committed or former player is currently on the team resolves it.

Perhaps he was just tired of recruiting, or the talent thinning out. Or maybe it was just the UCONN dynasty !

It there a time limit? What if they are no longer an AAU coach. Are we assuming all such relationships are unethical?

All which relationships?

Why? It is as they say, "to avoid even the appearance of impropriety."

It is more than "impropriety"...imagine, e.g., asst coach chemistry...look at Geno's Asst coaches, and you will see a pattern of competence and requisite previous experience.

All this, along with the coincidence that a hired AAU coach was the mentor of a newly committed recruit!

I will try to have an open mind on this, so please convince me that this does not stink to high hell if you disagree.

Dallas has soooooo much talent. Many of those girls are college ready.

Turner and McCowan are teaming with Baylor signee, PG Mackenzie Calvert, on T-Jack, this summer. Hire THAT coach.

McCowan's HS coach (Crutchfield) is former GA on Mulkey's staff.

Nice research.

Bring that coach back to Baylor. I think McCowan, with a couple more years to develop, is going to be a very dominant player.
