I'm excited. I like jugs.

The Jug was the idea of that NIL collective that UMass is no longer working with. No idea what happened between them, but that trophy wasn't from the UMass athletic department. Seems to me that the FightingMassachusetts twitter doesn't understand that.

The jug was made by the collective for both schools with the knowledge of both schools. The collective handed over the trophy to UMass some time ago. UMass was all in on it.

The trophy seems to be a casualty of the breakup between the school and the collective. They had been vocally critical of the AD that’s what triggered everything.

I just hope someone had the sense to put an Apple AirTag on that trophy so that it doesn’t disappear like the other trophy did.

Rivalries generate interest. Interest generates eyeballs. UMass should embrace it, even if they think it is stupid.

It has nothing to do with that. It has everthing to do with the AD ego and the conflict with their former NIL collective.

The AD is on a mission to ensure that everyone hates his guts.

Personally I see that as a mistake on Mora's part. He shouldn't acknowledge its existence.
I'm on the other side of it.

You acknowledge it's existence and the fact that they've never won it. You then continue to never let them win it, and then whenever it's brought up, people say, "oh yeah, the trophy that one school has never won."

That's the only way to break away from the association with them. By making the association outlandish in the first place...

That brings up an interesting point. UMass may not be working with that collective, but it doesn't mean the collective has to close up shop, does it?
