Looking around the Internet and most places are saying this game is the start to battle for Atlantis, can anyone confirm this?

Actually, I believe it is part of what they are calling the "mainland" games of the tournament.
You in town WED or FRI?

Haven't received my itinerary yet, but I think yes on Wednesday and not sure on Friday. Wednesday is a late start, like 9:30, right? You have ideas for a local watch spot, assuming Comcast doesn't add it between now and then?

Yes, Furman is part of the Battle 4 Atlantis, but doesn't go to the Bahamas. They compete elsewhere in the mainland tourney with 3 other mid majors.

Ha. That blows. "Hey guys, the good news is we're playing in a tournament in the Bahamas this winter. The bad news is we don't get to go to the Bahamas."

Kind of surprised anyone on the Yard would have this question since it's been discussed a lot.

This article in this morning's New Haven Register answers the question.

http://www.nhregister.com/sports/20151120/uconn-men-host-furman-before-heading-to-the-bahamas

UConn usually goes local (Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut State) or at least regional (Maine, New Hampshire, UMass-Boston) when filling out its non-conference schedule.

So how did South Carolina-based Furman, whom the 19th-ranked Huskies host Saturday at noon at Gampel Pavilion (SNY), wind up on the slate?

Well, the game is actually part of the mainland portion of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, which begins in earnest next week. Luckily for UConn (2-0), win or lose, it gets to move on to the Bahamas for three more games, starting Wednesday against Michigan. The Paladins, on the other hand, go on to play the three other “mainland” participants of the tourney in Elon, North Carolina.

Love the Tine Out Tavern but it's a haul and Rt 17 back to 91 at midnight Wednesday before Thanksgiving? Ouch, we better find another game to make this happen. I was thinking Chi Sam's Enfield maybe Cromwell, but only maybe still a haul.
