Thinking it would be fun to have separate threads for the top 3 upcoming holiday tournaments . First up is the Battle for Atlantis in the Bahamas which starts Saturday (Nov 19-21). The other 2 tournaments are the Phil Knight Invitational/Legacy (Nov 24-27) and Gulf Coast Showcase (Nov 25-27).

This thread is for pre- and post-game discussion and not game chats.

Here is the bracket for the Battle for Atlantis which I found at the SDSU website.

Other than the Championship game, are the other games available for "free" viewing? (ie, not on FloSports for example)

FYI - it appears the times for the Texas v Marquette and UCLA v SDSU games got swapped. According to the bracket posted on the Battle 4 Atlantis website UCLA v SDSU tips off at 2:30 pm EST and Texas v Marquette starts at 5 pm EST.

Hooray for Tennessee! Maybe they can hang a "We beat Rutgers" banner right next to their "Transfer Portal Champion" banner

“We beat Rutgers! We are back!”

Texas not looking great. Down 6 at half but probably should be down more. Marquette is playing well.

Its been very hit or miss without Harmon for Texas. How long is she supposed to be out?

Texas was pretty hot against UConn. Can’t seem to hit the side of the barn tonight. Fouls are WAY up also. Half the team is either fouled out or has 4. Crazy. Marquette hitting FT’s late.

Not feeling so hot about our TX win after seeing this…..

Marquette made 14-16 foul shots down the stretch after starting 8-18; another Schaefer masterpiece; very, very tough, very, very ugly game

Happy for Marquette. Jordan King was smooth! I've always liked Megan Duffy. She was a baller back in the day.
As for Texas, they looked out of sync. No one is really in rhythm or playing well. Without Rori and all the new pieces, they don't look too cohesive. Somehow all the supposed talent look very average. I don't think they are average but that's how they look. Their offense looks terrible without spacing. A bunch of dribble hand offs and forwards barrelling to the basket. And they are not great defensively. Respectfully though, still think they'll be good eventually.

Duffy is proving to be a good coach. Wonder how long Marquette can keep her.

In the words of Aunt Linda, "don't get too excited." Marquette didn't even make the NCAA tournament last year.

This is a nice win, but for me it signals more the weakness of Texas than the strength of their opponent. Data from this season is limited, but Marquette struggled to gain separation from Holy Cross.

Teams can have good days and bad days. The Texas team that played Uconn had a good shooting percentage. The fact that they lost today does not diminish uconn’s accomplishment. Marquette played well enough to pull off an upset.

What does not making the tournament last year have to do with this win? Funny, you posted how much you enjoyed a couple of Uconn fans’ providing post game “gems” reveling in that win but Marquettes should be downplayed because Texas is weak?

I was responding to a suggestion that Duffy is a hot commodity on the verge of being hired away. The mediocrity of last year's Marquette team is obviously germane to that point.

I'm flattered you've paid such close attention to my posts, but I'll need further explanation to understand how my appreciation of postgame summaries is irreconcilable with a sober assessment of Duffy's full resume.

Gonzaga giving Louisville a fight. 32-32 starting the 3rd. Hailey Van Lith with a miserable game so far.
