With plenty of time on our hands before start of season there will be off topics to discuss. I know that music is always a favorite. Here is a different take if you have time and want to participate. Using our alphabet A-Z list a band that you have seen play live in concert starting with each letter. I have been to my share of concerts so here is my list for each letter except “X”. Can’t remember ever seeing any band with a name that started with the letter X.

A – America (my first concert)
B – Black Sabbath
C – the Clash (Shea Stadium with the Who) awesome show

How about solo singers, like Gordon Lightfoot. BTW, he had an excellent accompanying band. Many solo singers started with a group, e.g. Kenny Rogers and First Edition, Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Ponies.

There was a great band called "X", out of LA. From Wikipedia: "X is an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles. The original members are vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist-bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer D. J. Bonebrake. The band released seven studio albums from 1980 to 1993. After a period of inactivity during the mid-to-late 1990s, X reunited in the early 2000s, and currently tours, as of 2021" (Bonebrake played for awhile with another ill-fated LA band - Concrete Blonde.)

I feel like I've led a sheltered life.... or just stayed away from concerts for the most part because at my first one...when I was a Cadet at the Coast Guard Academy,,, I was offered a joint that was being passed around...and had to decline for fear of failing a random drug test...that being followed by 30 years on active duty again with random drug tests always a possibility.

BUT, I have been to a few:

C - Charlie Daniels Band

E - Eagles

S - Straight No Chaser (Acapella Group, not a "Band") twice

And... I was not actually "in attendance", but was able to listen to a Beach Boys concert playing in downtown Portsmouth, VA from the balcony of the Admiral's house.

Me too, and not just of Sifaka. But geez, the guy's seen Cecil Taylor. Holy pianos, Batman! Among some of the others mentioned that I'd love to have seen are King Crimson, Yes, the Carpenters, and especially Earth Wind and Fire.

I missed L -- the League of Crafty Guitarists. These folks were a group of Robert Fripp's Guitar Craft class. About 30 people playing acoustic guitars. It had the potential to be great, but I was really disappointed.

Also missed W, the World Saxophone Quartet.
