Ball, Bray and Stew....

I don’t think there’s a prayer UConn goes into the season with both Ross and Stewart projected to be starters
Starter or not, there shouldn't be anybody who doesnt want Ross to get starter type minutes. Whether he starts or not will just be an honorific (and one i think he deserves, anyway)

That dude needs to be on the court as much as possible.

I think most people would be okay with that. Ideal scenario feels like it would be Ross Stewart and landrew as backups to the 2-4. If one has/gets to start, I’m sure we’d be just fine

Personally, I am very high on Stewart. No one has been more loyal/sacrificed more playing time than him as well.
Loyalty, 100%. But sacrificed? He had the opportunity to beat out Liam for the starting 3. He didn’t.

Due to injuries, he was able start 12 Games between the 3 and 4 and did not establish much and was inconsistent when AK and Liam returned.

Going into his Jr year, he was our starting 3 for 12 games with Braylon out and did not establish himself. He went to the bench and was inconsistent and then, due to injury or not, was ineffective in the minutes he got.

He’s been a great kid. Clearly worked hard and loved UConn as he could’ve bailed each year as he was more or less recruited over. But sacrifice? This is the NIL/portal era. There’s no such thing.

He brought important points, rebounds, and solid defense in limited minutes coming off the bench while coming back from an injury in the NCAAT.

Yes, I'd call that

I think Stew would get penciled in at the 4 at this point for the start of the season replacing most of AK's minutes. He knows the system and I don't think a transfer will come in right away and grasp both offensive and defensive expectations well enough to supplant Stew at the start - at least until Jan/Feb.

The amount of minutes would hinge on Freeman's decision. He'll have 2 years of eligibility left. I think we'll need Stew more than people think especially with Freeman's injury history. Having had a broken foot and a pin inserted into the foot along with Hurley's tough practice regimen doesn't exactly breed 100% confidence in his health at this point.
If Stewart is at the 4, he needs to become more physical and be a better rebounder.

If they are both starters we didnt do a good job in the portal and Landrew isn't as good as advertised

Let’s not forget we played our best basketball when he was on the floor.

Stewart does a lot of stuff that isn’t seen in the box score. He’s a winner and makes winning plays.

The revisionist history is beyond bizarre. I actually like the kid and would prefer that he stay but man, I’ll never understand this narrative. He’s had every opportunity.

Ross and Stewart give me weird feelings.

Both have deficiencies that we've seen over a few years now and baring some senior year jump we sort of know who they are. I'm not sure either one of them is really starter material on a team that wants to seriously challenge for a BE and national title.

But I am really, really glad Ross came back and I want Stew to as well. I would feel weird pulling for anyone from the portal to start over them, even if we bring in better players. I sort of wish they'd just combine themselves and create a nailed on starter and end the whole debate, frankly. They seem like good kids and hard workers.

Would like to keep those two and Ball especially with Karaban graduating as well - always nice to have continuity year over year.

Agreed to an extent on the second part. He was starting to take on a Giffey-esque connector vibe early in the year. He showed out to be a good passer, have the hockey assist, and be a useful player. But like the rest of our bench, he just didn’t produce much during the BE conference season and then the bench got shortened.

Not sure I agree with your first statement.

I’ve always found him to be a bit of a clown. I remember him taking to social media to criticize Clingan’s free throws and thinking, “really”?
Didn’t he tweet something after the Florida game last year and then need to walk it back?

No chance. We would have to rob a bank in order to pay all those guys what they would want
