Bad news for McNeeley?

I agree, likely 15-25. While it wasn’t a bad decision to leave, I think with a good season he could have been 5-10 after next season. Absent injury, Liam would have been better off staying, but I doubt that was ever the plan from before enrolling at UConn.

I think Chief got one right. Liam tested very well at the combine. Assuming he didn't flunk his private workouts, he is fringe lottery. But he shouldn't last long after that.

I hadn’t checked in on this thread in a few days and after I saw that, knew I had to immediately catch up just for the 2 pages of guaranteed belly laughs at all of the “shoulda stayed at UConn” “bad advice to go” type posts from the BY draft experts.

Thread delivers!
If Liam were getting good advice he would have stayed at UConn for four years and worked his way up, just like the old days. Then maybe applied for a fifth year of eligibility.

well that's obnoxious. Him doing badly does not make me happy. I am rooting for the kid. The ankle injury impacted his 3 point shot. That's your point. Okay. That argument belies logic, but maybe it is true. I hope and pray that he is a better pro than he was with us.

You don't understand why an ankle injury might affect a jump shooter?

That would be! Baylor Scheierman looked pretty good toward the end of the season and it seems like the C's are high on him as a cheap depth piece. Liam brings more skills, flexibility and upside to the table but wonder if they are too similar to be 1st round picks in back to back years. Hope not (not that I expect Liam to fall that far in any case).
Maybe. The Cs need a forward, a big and a guard once they move Jrue. Baylor can slot as SG next to White/PP. He’s not big enough to replace Tatum, but nobody on the roster is. Depending on the pieces they get in trades we will know what they need. Liam could fit as a Hauser replacement if they solve PF and C before the draft.

As Adama would say-"Liam (and his Family) said he would be one and done. And he was."

No surprises here-Wish him well.
That appeared to be their perspective. And to some extent the goal likely will be achieved but Chief thinks even more could have been accomplished with patience and confidence in self.

Because of the length of the college season, high ankle sprains derail everything. Most kids, because of urgency, are rushed back prematurely and that impacts everything in the floor. The data is there if someone has the time to research players before and the few months after. If Liam remained healthy there is no question he would be a top 12 pick. I still believe he goes mid teens.

they invited 25 last year, Edey declined so there were 24 in attendance. Kyle Filipowski was one of them and he went 2nd round, although there was speculation that the family stuff contributed his slide.
I didn’t know anything about this “family stuff” regarding Kyle Filipowski, and now only know what I know from reading a single New York Post article, but…

Is it just me or is it the family that is nuts and the relationship he’s in seems completely healthy and appropriate?

It might be just you. I really hope it is just you.

You should tell this to the person I was responding to
