B1G 25-26

Nebraska is a NET outlier at #28. They are 1-10 in Quad 1 games. I just can't see them in, even in the play-in-game Creme shows for them. ASU discussion is probably better for another thread although it sort of relates as the strength of the Big 10 versus the mediocrity of the Big 12 is a factor come selection day for seeding.
They're likely out. Penn State had a NET of 27 (conference record of 9-9) two years ago with one Q1 win and everyone back then argued (correctly) for them to be left out--and they were.

Creme does this when he can't accurately project the last team in. Nebraska won't make it, and I think he knows that as well.

Surprised by the score between Illinois and Iowa last night. Thought it was going to be more of a battle like it was when they played in Iowa. Doesn't take away from the season Coach Green has had this year and with the young core she has on that roster, I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform next season in the BIG10.

Yeah, even had room for a bit of showtime from Iowa. Gotta say this play made for good TV and the throw it between the legs pass got upstaged by the underhand pass return. The final score might mislead peeps some but this was a 20 point game till the last few minutes run by the Illini vs the Iowa subs.

I think Nebraska is a placeholder at this point. Creme doesn't know what's going to happen in the Summit League, so he's keeping the Huskers there for now.

I think that SDSU wins it and steals a bid.
Thanks.

Hope the steal is not from ASU

Ok Big 10 experts..... Will you guys weigh in.

Creme has Amy Williams and the Huskers dancing and ASU and Molly Miller at home. Miller made the point that there is never been a power Four 24 when team left out of the dance.

I am a Husker fan through my wife and I really do like Amy Williams. But as an Arizonan and a delighted ASU fan I can't see any rationale for having the Huskers dance and ASU stay at home.

What do you think?
First, it’s surprising that anybody really likes Amy Williams as a coach (especially after her behavior in the Chuck Love fiasco).

To your main point, Nebraska should not make the tourney. In the history of the Big Ten, only 1 WBB team has made the NCAA tourney with a losing conference record, Indiana in 2019, went 8-10, won a game in the BIG Tourney to finish 9-11 against BIG Teams. After losing in the BIG tourney, Nebraska is 7-12 against BIG teams, with 0 ranked wins, 1-10 in Quad 1, and a weak nonconference schedule. What’s to like about the Cornhuskers’ resume? Nothing.

NET ranking? NET is a predictive ranking. At this point there is nothing to predict about Nebraska. The results are in. We know Nebraska is a mediocre at best team. I would take ASU and South Dakota State in a heartbeat over Nebraska.

Iowa has looked very good, but I think they won’t have enough for the Bruins.

I bet UConn would love to have a rematch against Michigan.

Big Ten people.... lemme know something. What the heck is Michigan's problem? 42 pts?

Kylie Feuerbach and Chit Chat Weight. It's that simple.
Stremlow, Stuelke and Heiden may want to chime in on that. Especially on a day where Feuerbach was a surprising 0-4 from the field and scored 0 points.

It was a question about the lack of Michigan scoring.

Last time I include them in a parlay. Can't trust them... Michigan State... probably can't even trust Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, or Detroit Mercy. They got over hyped early because they beat up on ND and lost a close game to UConn..... I'm done with them.

Personally I'm happy Iowa won as their 2 big girls will at least be a battle for UCLA!
Michigan has a body for a big girl that's their weakness and Iowa sure took advantage of it!

And those three had no influence on how hard it was for Michigan to score? Unselfish play on the offensive side and their defensive rebounding as a team had an impact as well.

The object of the game is to put the ball in the basket. Shooting 27%, 19%, 55%, and your Big Three going 11-39 does not help to meet that objective.

So... just crickets today? Okay.
I've been posting everything on the Championship Week thread rather than in individual conference threads.

edit--there are a lot of threads to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming!

I'll chime in. The Bruins completely obliterated Iowa; they crushed their spirit like no one else. The young Hawkeyes will learn something from this beating. I hope the Big Ten Championship Game isn't the highlight of UCLA's season.

I think that Iowa's status as a premier B1G team is pretty secure. Jan Jensen has done everything right in order to show that she should be trusted at the helm. Hopefully, whatever the NIL landscape looks like moving forward, she is able to navigate those waters.

But, no shame in losing to an aberrational UCLA team... and I also hope that wasn't the highlight of the season for the Bruins.

Jan Jensen/Iowa have a lot riding on the NCAA Tournament. Except for the Caitlin Clark era, Iowa under Bluder was a consistent NCAA Tournament underperformer (1 Elite 8 and 1 other Sweet 16 in 14 NCAA Tourney Appearances before Clark). Jensen needs to make it to at least the Sweet 16 this year.

I anticipate the Hawkeyes will apply those lessons and take revenge in a big way when UCLA plays at Carver-Hawkeye Arena next season.

Ditto re the game not being the highlight of the Bruins’ season.

Well the Bruins are probably losing about 90% of their scoring with graduation losses, so it will be an ENTIRELY different UCLA squad.
