Agree. Wasn’t familiar with Graves’ personality/media persona before he joined the BIG, but after watching him at BIG media day last year, he instantly became a favorite. I’d rate Graves and Katie Gearlds as the top 2 BIG coaches in terms of likability and candor. Would love to have a beer with them.. . . But I do like Kelly Graves. He kinda is a straight shooter.
Graves seems like a good guy. He also has seemed to be a great recruiter over the years. I’m less impressed with him as a coach. But he has supplied a lot of talent to other teams. But I do like Kelly Graves. He kinda is a straight shooter. I feel like if this was the men's side or maybe the NBA he'd get into a bit of trouble with his openness lol. He kinda said they woulda beat duke if not for injury last year.

@nwhoopfan, Coach Langley has got to be pretty excited to see how Howell has been performing this summer. I was in Toronto to see this game live. Wish there was a box score because her shooting from 3 seemed perfect last night. Made a lot of smart decisions and wasn't afraid to battle for rebounds and loose balls.
And how much better Washington's offence can be with her on the court along with Ladine. This really gives one some perspective on the magnitude of the loss to USC Howell's departure represents.
This was a good watch. Really insightful host. I'm not that high on Oregon this year. They lost a lot due to graduation. But I do like Kelly Graves. He kinda is a straight shooter. As a Purdue fan, it's unfortunate the position she was thrust in at Purdue. I think had she went the route of being an assistant for a few years or a head mid major coach, she would have had more success at Purdue.Agree. Purdue is a cautionary tale for IU and Iowa. For approximately 20 years (1990-2010), Purdue was the premier BIG team, but Versyp’s cratering put Purdue in a hole from which it is struggling to escape. The simultaneous rise of IU has added to Purdue’s difficulties. I am not optimistic about Gearld’s prospects, but I am a fan of Gearlds the person. As a Purdue fan, it's unfortunate the position she was thrust in at Purdue.
