B1G 25-26

Nebraska is a NET outlier at #28. They are 1-10 in Quad 1 games. I just can't see them in, even in the play-in-game Creme shows for them. ASU discussion is probably better for another thread although it sort of relates as the strength of the Big 10 versus the mediocrity of the Big 12 is a factor come selection day for seeding.
They're likely out. Penn State had a NET of 27 (conference record of 9-9) two years ago with one Q1 win and everyone back then argued (correctly) for them to be left out--and they were.

Creme does this when he can't accurately project the last team in. Nebraska won't make it, and I think he knows that as well.

Surprised by the score between Illinois and Iowa last night. Thought it was going to be more of a battle like it was when they played in Iowa. Doesn't take away from the season Coach Green has had this year and with the young core she has on that roster, I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform next season in the BIG10.

Yeah, even had room for a bit of showtime from Iowa. Gotta say this play made for good TV and the throw it between the legs pass got upstaged by the underhand pass return. The final score might mislead peeps some but this was a 20 point game till the last few minutes run by the Illini vs the Iowa subs.

I think Nebraska is a placeholder at this point. Creme doesn't know what's going to happen in the Summit League, so he's keeping the Huskers there for now.

I think that SDSU wins it and steals a bid.
Thanks.

Hope the steal is not from ASU

Ok Big 10 experts..... Will you guys weigh in.

Creme has Amy Williams and the Huskers dancing and ASU and Molly Miller at home. Miller made the point that there is never been a power Four 24 when team left out of the dance.

I am a Husker fan through my wife and I really do like Amy Williams. But as an Arizonan and a delighted ASU fan I can't see any rationale for having the Huskers dance and ASU stay at home.

What do you think?
First, it’s surprising that anybody really likes Amy Williams as a coach (especially after her behavior in the Chuck Love fiasco).

To your main point, Nebraska should not make the tourney. In the history of the Big Ten, only 1 WBB team has made the NCAA tourney with a losing conference record, Indiana in 2019, went 8-10, won a game in the BIG Tourney to finish 9-11 against BIG Teams. After losing in the BIG tourney, Nebraska is 7-12 against BIG teams, with 0 ranked wins, 1-10 in Quad 1, and a weak nonconference schedule. What’s to like about the Cornhuskers’ resume? Nothing.

NET ranking? NET is a predictive ranking. At this point there is nothing to predict about Nebraska. The results are in. We know Nebraska is a mediocre at best team. I would take ASU and South Dakota State in a heartbeat over Nebraska.
